 | Hello I am the granddaughter of Ruby Callahan Pulliam. I Dont know if you have seen my notes and things on your great memorials. I thank you so much for these memorials of my family. These people are my folks. My grandmothers people. But -One of Burt's sons was Robert. My great great grandfather. Would you happen to have any info or would you know ANYthing that would be interesting for me to know about him? All I know of great grandpa Charles (Roberts son) is that he is buried in Reidlawn. (same as granny Ruby & Papa Clyde and others) But anything about Robert & Great grandpa Charles that you may know woul dreally make my day. If you have any photos please - I ask you humbly- to share them. I hope you and your family are having a good Holiday so far. Have a great Christmas ans thank you again for helping me learn more about my family. Peace & blessings. ~StacyAdded by Stacy on Dec 05, 2012 11:29 PM | | | Taylor Whisonant
 | Linda Thank you ever so much for the headstone of the Luck and Handy Family. I probably would not never seen them, if you had not taken the time to take the pictures.
Thanks again and God Bless,

 | Thank you Thanks, Linda, for referring me to this site. I enjoy looking at it. It was good to see you and Peggy at the reunion yesterday. We had some good food, didn't we?

 | RE: James Mitchell Meredith#28562625 Please go to the memorial in question, click edit and suggest a correction. Thanks. | | | David Clay
 | RE: Baby Boy Gibbs You are referring to Baby Gibbs at Danview Cemetery? Hope so, because I added his parents to that memorial. Did his father die in the war?

 | Joel's Obituary I just had an idea. If you go to the main Greensboro libary downtown, they have all of the old newspapers on microfilm. You should be able to look his obituary up from one of the newspapers that came out a day or two after he died.Added by BCBurt on Sep 30, 2012 12:43 PM | | | BCBurt
 | RE: Joel Walsie Callahan Genealogy Bank won't let me put in a first name. (Isn't that crazy???) But I looked thru all of the Callahans that came up in NC, and he didn't appear to be there. Sometimes I can't put in a date, either. So you see how messed up their search feature is. They should make it so that we can put in full names, and dates.
I was really lucky to find Jabez---which only had his initials, but I found him by the month and year of his death. I haven't been able to get Joel at all. (Even tried Walsie---but they won't let me put the first name.)Added by BCBurt on Sep 30, 2012 12:40 PM | | | BCBurt
 | RE: Joel Walsie Callahan I haven't been able to find a thing about him. Those newspapers are very disappointing in most cases. Another Joel Callahan kept popping up. A Maj. Joel T. Callahan had a lot of articles about him because of his job (I think in the Army Corps of Engineers).
Genealogy Bank doesn't have any of the smaller town newspapers---mostly those from the larger cities. But Joel's obituary should be in at least the Greensboro paper, and maybe the Winston-Salem papers. The thing is that they don't have all of those--or if they do, they don't always have a way of finding what needs to be found. They need to come up with a better way---and to include all of the papers.
I went ahead and added an entry for Eliphalet Callahan from his Civil War records. But since I don't know where he was buried, he's in an "unknown" place of burial. If you ever want me to transfer the Callahan entries to you, just let me know.Added by BCBurt on Sep 30, 2012 6:32 AM | | | | [View all messages...] |
