Mary Penix who married Wiley Harp was the daughter of John Penix and Frances (some give her name as Frances Rose)John Penix died in 1793 when Mary was a baby. Overton Penix was his brother.

Hi! I have no idea why "G" was used as a middle initial on her grave. I believe that she was called Polly just because it was a common nickname and term of affection. Best wishes!! | | | ALC

Yes, my family descends from one of Byrd's brothers, Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Bridges. Byrd's father is Martin M. Bridges (1820 in Pike co, MS-aft 1880 in Simp co, MS)Find A Grave #15931919. Byrd's mother was Sarah Ann Davis (1825 in LA - aft 1880 in Simp co, MS). Have not found her on Find A Grave yet. The only Sarah in the same cemetery as Martin seems to be the wife of Green Bridges. Jerry Stevens has tons of history for the Bridges here:
