Bio and Links
Bio Photo Researching genealogy. A lot of my ancestors were LDS. My ancestors come from Utah originally and then moved to Idaho. Both paternal and maternal sides of my ancestors have Mormon connections. Originally my paternal side came over from England and Norway. My maternal side's ancestors are from Denmark, as well as England, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Norway, and possibly Germany, originally. In addition there are small Jewish and French roots.
I'm very interested in genealogy, possibly due to my LDS roots! I've always been very interested in family genealogy, since I was younger. When my mom passed, this kind of caused me to start studying it again. Genealogy is really important and helps one learn a lot about oneself and one's family of origin!

Ruth Blair's book
Thought you might be interested:

There is a book that belonged to Ruth Blair in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum in SLC UT. I took a photo of it and will post it on her site. It's a Deseret Alphabet textbook.

Info.on Elizabeth
I am a decendant of Alva Read, and I am looking for life history information on his sisters. Do you have any information on Elizabeth or any of her other sisters. My great Grandmother LaVerda Read Young wrote something about all of the Read brothers that is very helpful, but we have nothing on the sisters. I would very much like to have even a little info to go with the write up I have about the brothers.

Hi! I found your record of Richard Gorringe, #66849802, I believe he is the younger brother of Abraham Gorringe (b.1725? d.1776or78, England). Abraham left Richard the executer of his estate, Abraham was a bookseller in Fleet st, he married Ann Loye/lloyd 19 nov 1753. Their son Frances I believe was one of the first settlers of the Niagara, Canada. I'm looking for further information on my ancestor Abraham Gorringe (ie, Abraham and Richard's parents) if anybody is able to help? Thanks,
Sady

RE: Swensens
I am glad you like them. I found them among my great uncle Archie Swensen's things. I wasn't all sure either who the kids were in the picture with Mette. But I think your right. I figure this was taken about 1900. What can you tell me of Peter Swensen Sr. I have been trying to find his ship records and Christen's when they came to the US. I am having a heck of a time finding anything on those two.. I really don't know anything about Christena, but she is my great great grandmother. My email address is dcarr@nvc.net would love to discuss more with you.
Thanks for writing to me,
Sandy

RE: Isaac and Ruth Blair
Maybe it was pronounced with a long u and so they thought it was spelled that way. They seemed to be a lot more flexible about that sort of thing back then!

How interesting. I'd never noticed it spelled that way. I guess if it's written in stone, it must be the one to go with. Thanks!

RE: Ruby's place of rest
You are welcome! The cemetery has Ruby listed as buried there and if I recall, I did see a marker for what was probably a sibling of Ruby as well as her parents. I just could not find a marker for her. Please leave the photo request though, it may still be there. That is the first time I have been to Lewiston cemetery and I was not familiar with their plot map at all, so I could have missed it.

Thanks!
