RE: Mary Eldred Conkrite
I can send you the census. If we both put our heads together maybe we can figure out what happened to the Hayeses.
Mary is my great grand aunt. Her brother, Amos Eldred (memorial #112330469)is my great grandfather (x2).
If you'd like to keep your email private, drop me a note at so I can send you the census. Only two of the children are with Mary in 1880, Charles and one of the daughters. Their grandmother, Clarissa, died in 1879 in Quincy.

Mary Eldred Conkrite
Hi Joan

Mary married twice. The first was Hayes (first name unknown). They had children Sarah, Clara, Edward and Charles (US Census 1870 for Quincy, Branch, Michigan, Page 24, Dwelling 216, Family 228, Listing for Mary Hayes (daughter) in household of Clarissa Eldred). Conkrite was her 2nd husband.

RE: Lucinda Morgan
Hello! Yes, the photo is just of the plot where Lucinda is being listed as buried. The only remaining stone there is for Enos Morgan. There was no stone I could find for Lucinda. Sorry!

His mother and father apparently were not married so he carried his mother's last name. Based on that, I think the memorial should stay as it is.

Hello again, I can accept, reject, or ignore edits and then I need to scroll down further to process my choices.

Your name sounds familiar. We might have corresponded before. What do you think? Jane

Turner Chappell Huldah Pease
I descend from Turner's brother Ansel. They were the sons of Samuel and Dorothy (Laraby) Chappel of New London, CT and later Sandisfield, Berkshire, MA. When I was researching Turner I was surprised to find that he and his family were in MI in 1826. I was looking for them in Avon, NY where his older brothers Enos and Edgecomb lived. I googled his name and Avon and found him buried in Avon Township, Oakland Co, MI. What a surprize that was. My sister, a descendant of Enos, and I met in Flint, MI and were able to get his estate papers and visit his tombstone. There must have been an epidemic. Turner, Huldah, and baby Alvira died within weeks of each other. I don't know if Enos was with them when they died or came later to get the surviving daughters. He must have caught whatever they had because he died later in Oct. 1826. The estate papers show that Huldah Pease's brother became their guardian in NY. It was a very interesting story, There was a doctor in MI who wanted custody and for awhile had custody of one of the girls. I do think they both went to NY with Enos. I could not trace them until I found the marriage for the other daughter Alvina? who married a minister. They were in Avon, NY but then went to Flint. I think they are the ones who put up the tombstone for Turner, Huldah, and the baby. I was surprised to find out that they went to Kalamazoo, MI where my Chappells ended up. They might have even know each other. I have not been able to find Almira either. I was hoping you had some information. I am interested in knowing your relationship however distant. If you would like more information about this Chappell family, please email me directly. Turner had 10 siblngs. Jane from MI

Huldah Pease Chappell
Hi, You made an edit for Huldah probably connecting her to her parents which I would like to accept. I don't know how to accept it. I can get to my pending edits but I don't see how to accept it. One of your other edits was for one Huldah's daughters Almira. I ended up putting Alivra back on. How do you know about the children? Are you related? Jane
