Hi Doug, Thanks for your efforts on fixing this memorial for Wm Irons. In order to contact the current owner, you need to click the "EDIT" tab on the upper right corner of Wm Irons memorial. Then choose "Suggest a correction or provide additional information" and leave your message in that form. It should go through to Mike that way, even though he doesn't post his email address.

Thank you. I added her maiden name to the site. Please let me know any other information you find out about the family. I am doing the research for my father-in-law. Thanks again!

No problem I understand :) I think the Boyd's are Irish, perhaps Scotch Irish. I am trying to figure out of the Boyd family and the Richard Caruthers family are in some way related. After Wm Boyd died, father of James Madison Boyd, he was found living with Richard and Adaline (Thomas) Caruthers in Crawford Co PA. Adaline is Hannahs' sister. And it appeared that James continued living with this couple until he reached his majority. He also married Harriet Fedelia Kelly d/o Alvah Kelly and Asenieth Amelia Thomas (sister of both Adalene and Hannah). James was killed tragically while on his postal route, hit by a train, killed instantly. Wm Boyd married Roxanna Smith. After Wm died, she married 2nd, a Martin Wentz, I believe was his name. Roxanna died Jan 5, 1881 at Sandy Lake, Mercer Co PA. Wm Boyd died Oct 17, 1851 at same location, both buried at Boyd Cemetery in Sandy Lake. Wm I believe is the s/o James Alexander Boy and Jane Haggertie of Sandy Creek, PA. James was born 1769 at Ireland, as was his wife Jane. Wm/Roxanna had the following children: Thomas, Samuel A, Naomi w/o Charles Horrobin, Maranda, Lucinda Irene w/o Charles Horribin - same fella, her sister Naomi died 1886, and Lucinda married Charles about 1890, Sarah A, w/o Isaac Kitch, Christopher b. 1847, d. 1850, and Israel S. Boyd b. 1850 he is living with his Mom in New Vernon, PA in 1870. AND this is just what I uncovered when seeking info on my Thomas line! Any q's happy to help! Michelle

Hi, you can easily get rid of the ads by using the Firefox browser and installing AdBlock Plus to it. No more advertisements, ever.
It may be available for other browsers, but Firefox is a better browser than IE ,in my opinion. I use it exclusively.
Google "Mozilla Firefox Adblock Plus" to read about it.

I think I can help :-)
Hannah Thomas was the d/o Ephraim Thomas and Mehitable Earle -- both from Whitehall, Wash Co Ny.
James Madison Boyd was born in Sandy Lake, Mercer Co, PA on Feb 13, 1846. He was the son of William Boyd and Roxanna Smith. William and Roxanna had 9 children. William, the father died Oct 17, 1851. Roxanna, the mother, later in life, married 2nd to Martin Wentz and she died Jan 5, 1881 at Sandy Lake, Mercer Co, PA.
James M. Boyd married circa 1866, as his first wife, Miss Harriet Fedelia Kelley d/o Alvah Kelly and Asenith Amelia Thomas. Harriet died July 19, 1900 and is buried at Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville. James married 2nd and he was killed by train while prosecuting his occupation as Postal Carrier on June 13, 1916 at Centerville. He too is buried at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Asenith Amelia Thomas was an older sister of Hannah Thomas.
Too, I am seeking to understand why just James, in 1850 and again 1860 census was living in the home of Richard Caruthers and Adeline (nee Thomas). His father William died in 1851, and James was just a boy, but there were two younger siblings, so wondering if there was more of a relationship between the Caruthers and Boyd's. Adeline was sister to both Hannah and Asenith, and my Mary (nee Thomas) Reynolds of Ontario Canada and then later of Michigan.
