Bio and Links
Bio Photo After many years of research, and with the help of several Brown cousins we have traced our family back to our 4th great grandfather William Brown b 1755 in VA d 1841 in Marshall County, IL. William was a Revolutionary War Veteran who joined the VA Militia at the age of twenty, moved his family to KY in the early 1800's, and boarded a Ohio River steamboat for IL in 1834. We are currently researching the Brown families of Marshall County, IL and Shelby County, KY to find out more about our William Brown.

RE: Robert Brown's dau Elizabeth Ann Brown
I contacted the Lexington Historical Society and they have her buried in Cornell, Livingston County, IL. Her hubby John is also there apparently. I added her to Find A Grave and to her parents site.

Wm Brown (1795-1855)
This William Brown was born in South Carolina and lived in Perry County. My grandfather (Ira Scott Brown) had Browns on both sides of his family from this area who were likely related farther back. A huge number of the Brown clan are buried in the Hopewell Cemetery in Perry County 5 miles west of Pinckneyville. My great grandparents are there as well as many of their ancestors. Buried next to William and his wife Mary NESBIT (NESBITT, NISBET) Brown are a younger William G. Brown (a soldier in the Mexican War) and an Elizabeth Brown. Both were born in the 1820s.

RE: Adam P. Brown
I have a couple photos that I could not match to existing memorials. The headstones are difficult to read. I can email them to you to add. One might be the William you requested. Two of them definitely look like Willie ???? something.
