| Bio and Links | | I have been researching my family history since 1980. I wrote up my research in the 1980s in a 360 page book. Now I am retired from working for a living and am back to the research. Just recently got on the internet doing it. Am entering my family in Ancestry.com and just starting to put the burials in Find A Grave. Am willing to document cemeteries in my area (Hermosa Beach, CA) to contribute to free genealogy research. | |

 | Grants I've recreated Alexander and father, John Grant in new Trusdell Cemetery and also "nabbed" Jean (Thompson) Grant, Alexander's wife, so you need not enter these 3 in Trusdell I promise this is my last message for a while. :>) Contact if needed.
Your new "best friend" for Sun, May 19th ! Neal | | | Neal Gardner
 | RE: Grant Cemetery I've created Trusdell Cemetery in Town of Stamford. When I tried to transfer Alexander Grant Jr., FindA said I had to ask your permission as creator to delete. I recreated Alexander in Trusdell Cem, but do you have to delete him in "Grant Cemetery" ? Some of these procedures are baffling and the help section is way too complicated. | | | Neal Gardner
 | RE: Grant Cemetery Hi Susan,
Trusdell Cemetery (no longer used) is not listed in FindAGrave. I'll go ahead and create it, if you haven't already. I have a feeling that Grant Cemetery is the "Old Grant Cemetery" referred to, but I have no facts.
There is also a Truesdell Cemetery in Kentucky. Almost buried my Grant people there ! Ooops. | | | Neal Gardner
 | RE: Grant Cemetery Hi Susan,
Found my printout for Delaware Co. cemeteries from dcnyhistory.org/rox.html
"Grant Cemetery, River Pond" does indeed have 6 names only: Daniel, David, Donald, Donald W., Frederick & Sarah Ann Grant..
Under "Trusdell Cemetery, Town Brook Road" are about 80 names, including Alexander Jr., wife Jean (Thompson) & John Grant.
Online I've seen statements equating these two cemeteries, obviously not true.
Glad you caught this. Good job. I'll change my pages.

 | RE: Transfer? Susan,
Thanks, that would be great if you could send me the link. | | | David Carpenter
 | Fort Lyons National Cemetery Evelyn M. Larsen is not in the Locator Book for the Fort Lyons National Cemetery. | | | Matt Willis
 | RE: Thankyou! Good way to spend a beautiful Sunday. My aunt, the village historian and on the cemetery board has the "Big Book of Deads" for Stamford township. Her house is also right down the street from the village cemetery. How could I not take the time? Cheers! | | | Neal Gardner
 | RE: Grants Hi Susan, Thanks so much for the Grant transfers. I see that you also manage Jean Thompson Grant, wife of Alexander Jr., but don't transfer yet. Having moved recently, I haven't unpacked all my "hard copy" research. I have a large GRANT descendancy from John Grant, the immigrant and a few other GRANT families not closely related. I've seen David and David P., but don't remember what line he comes from. Give me a few days and I'll definitely get back to you. Have a great day ! Neal | | | | [View all messages...] |
