I was born in Newman in 1972 and lived there for a short time while my dad was working on site as a powder monkey. 4 years later moved to built house in Rockingham and started my schooling there. Never really knew my father that well as he used to work away for a whole year each year and only flew back to Perth on his 4 week holidays every year. So basically my mum was my mum and dad in one. Anyhow I have followed my fathers footsteps now and I myself am currently in the mining game based at Yandi 90km away from Newman but my kids are fortunate because they get to see me more often than I used to see my father. I am on a 2/1 roster fifo Perth and I am married to a beautiful caring wife and have 2 great teenage sons to carry on the Sakiri name. | |

 | Elmas Sakiri Hi Nuredin, I've been researching Poppy and this is additional information you can use for his Find A Grave Memorial.
Elmas would've been on the maiden voyage of the ship Galileo in 1963. Leaving from the port Genoa, Italy. This ship was built to transport passengers to immigrate to Australia. Sadly this ship sank in the Strait of Malacca in 1999 as the Sun Vista, owned by Sun Cruises. Elmas's original destination was for Victoria, Australia. He ended up in Amdamooka, Adelaide and had a miners right for mining Opals.
