My name is Brenda (BJ) Smith. I was born in Macon, MS but my family comes from Kemper and Winston Counties. My ancestors are Culberson, Jackson, Smith, Anderson, Liddell, Tyous, Duncan, Chamberlin, Coleman, Cotton, Bragg,etc. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. Retired and I love working on family history and genealogy.|

My mother's maternal lines are the Duncan, Colemans, Braggs.
Her father's mother was a Smith. The Smiths are out of Jackson/Clay County, TN. I've been trying to get one of my Smith male relatives to test their y-DNA, but no luck yet.
If you ever feel like splurging, try the Family Finder Test. It's less expensive if you do it as an upgrade. I did it for my mom last week, so the results are probably a week or two away.
