RE: Mrs. F. Davis - Saratoga IOOF Cemetery
WOW that is very cool! She had a son names Ira Quick. Is that a child with your Uncle? I now found that and that she was born in October of 1847. I am sure this is the same person. In the 1910 census, it says she was living in Santa Clara as a servant. This is so interesting!

Mrs. F. Davis - Saratoga IOOF Cemetery
Hi there!

I see two new edits that you sent over today. May I ask how you found this information? I only ask because even the IOOF here in town does not know the real first name of this lady nowadays, only that she was married to a Mr. F. Davis. I did quite a bit of research myself and have not found anything on this particular lady, either. Is she a relative? Inquiring minds want to know! LOL

A lot of the people in the IOOF cemetery only have names like this - Mrs. so-and-so or even something like J.P. Smith, where they don't even know the gender of the person buried. I am always super happy when a random family member of a person in this tiny cemetery finds them.

=)

Hi Joe,
Well obviously I just didn't post this memorial... since the headstone was there plain to see and easy to find. I believe I probably photographed it and then my pc crashed so lost this section.
Glad you asked for it.

I plan on looking for Mr Briggs headstone, however I must tell you that I photographed that section in what I believed to be its entirety, and did the other Briggs in that lot. So there may not be a stone any longer, I will look again.
In 1985 when the cemetery was transcribed, it seems that there was a stone to be read.

Father Davis photo
As you can see I uploaded the Davis photo request you made. I found 4 others as part of this Davis area. Are you wanting those?

I went to the cemetery and got the location of the grave from the office.
I looked a long time but could not find a stone at the location I was given.
I suspect that there isn't a headstone.
Sorry,
John Lettner

RE: Spaulding
Joseph;

Augustus Butterfield Spaulding family from Trempealeau Co. area was the son of a John Varnum Spaulding and he was from Chelmsford, Middlesex, MA. No stops in Erie Co. NY that I know of... I don't have any Phebe/Phoebe Spaulding in my tree that matches...good luck.

Johann Peter and Maria Fernholz
I stopped by the cemetery in Glencoe again on my way to Eau Claire the other day, just to double check and see if I could find the stones for Johann and Maria. The cemetery map shows Johann was buried in plot 105, so I checked the area again. Unfortunately there is no stone for him or Maria there... The plot is surrounded by several Fernholz monuments, so I'm pretty sure that location on the map was correct. I photographed his name on the map and added it to his memorial, along with a photo of the plot showing the Gleason stones and some of the surrounding Fernholz monuments.
