Hello Nina, my name is Teresa and I am married to Jeff Fly, one of William's grandsons. Since we know his last name was changed sometime before he went Ingo the military we would like to know if you are sure if he is your cousin. If so we would love to talk with you about him since we have very little to go off of before his marriage to Cloe Irene and we would love to know more about him and his family. Thank you for your time.

Hi Nina,
I have added the links. With all the snow and low temps this winter it seems to me like the longest winter ever. I can't wait to be able to get back out into the cemeteries again.
Have a great day!

I suspect that
Mary Foy died early in 1838 during the winter while giving birth to her second child 'Infant Bixler" who also did not survive the that winter.

Jefferson then remarried sometime soon after that and a year after this tragedy happened Isaac was born to Mary Catherine Jones.

Dates don't add up.
Isaac was Born in 1839 not 1838.
Mary Foy died in 1838.

Find a grave says his Mother is Mary Foy but she died in 1838 and he was born in 1839....

Something does not add up here.

Issac was born Mar. 14, 1839

Mary Foy died in 1838 from what i have gathered.
According to this Mary and Jefferson had a Infant that died the same year as Mary Foy and that led me to believe that she died during child birth giving birth to "Infant Bixler"

I have found 3 Birth Places for Jefferson Find a Grave says Iowa. Other websites say Fairfield County or Pennsylvania He has no record of having parents and has no middle name. I am leaning towards the idea that he is not a Bixler at all but rather adopted the name. Hence is why i am curious because i am the very last male survivor of his legacy that can pass the name down to the next generation.

Its also interesting that he had Isaac with Mary Catherine Jones 14 Mar 1839 in Ohio. I am interested in knowing if Isaac was even Jefferson's son or if Jefferson adopted him because if Mary Foy died in 1838 while giving birth to "Infant Bixler" later in the year then why was Jefferson fooling around with another woman?

This is great i look into my namesakes past and find possible scandals! Jefferson was charged with a Felony at one point i ran across that i do not remember where and what it was about.

Yes we would love Pictures! Issac was born Mar. 14, 1839

Information about Mary Foy and Jefferson Bixler
Issac Bixler is my GG Grandfather and the son of Jefferson Bixler who was married to Mary Foy. As i have gathered they had 2 children and from what it looks like she died during labor. Was wondering what the date was on that. Issac was Born in March of 1839 Mary Foy and her infant died in 1838.

http://www.gencircles.com/users/ruthiej/3/data/832

I would love to know the date of her death.
Also do you have any idea where Jefferson was Born i see Penn. and Ohio as possible locations.
We can only track our namesake to this point. We are thinking that maybe Issac was possibly adopted seeing as it would be hard to believe that Jefferson would cheat on his pregnant wife. If she died early in 1838 then it is safe to assume that Issac is Jefferson's biological son.

We are stuck here as far as tracing our family tree.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Eleanor Mullin transfer
There is no cemetery in Elkhart County dedicated specifically for veterans. Prairie Street, Rice and Grace Lawn cemeteries all have their own sections for veterans. If you're not in a hurry, I'll see what I can find on Charles. A DOD would be very helpful if you have one.
