RE: jane duncan
Good Morning. Thanks for contacting me. I wish I had more information to help you in your search, but I've researched this family to only a limited extent. My focus was on identifying the siblings, parents, grandparents of Alpha Omega Williams (Mize) as part of my project to identify the loved ones of those buried at the state hospital here in Morganton. I've posted all I have on the family on my Bonsai tree on
I can send you an "invitation" to view it via your email address. I've not heard back from anyone for whom I've done that before to know just what becomes available to you when I send such an "invitation". I'll send it. If you get a chance please let me know if that lets you get a good look at the tree. I have to assume that those sent the invitations don't have to have a membership with
Anyway - I'll send it.

RE: Bek
Hi Judi, Nice to e-meet you!
My line to the Becks is as follows:
My Mother's Father, Charles W. Ross, his Father, William L. Ross, his Father, John H. Ross Jr., his Wife, Rhoda Bell Ross, her Mother, Arah Swafford, Daughter of John Madison Swafford and wife Rebecca "Ruby" Beck, Daughter of my 5th. Great Grandfather and Rev. War Patriot, Jeffrey Beck Jr. and Wife Mary McDaniel. Jeffrey Beck Jr. was the Father of Col. Samuel Beck, the Father of Samuel Meren Beck, War For Southern Independence Patriot, and my 1st. Cousin 5 times removed, and Husband of Martha Evelyn Wall, which is your line. So I guess we are "distant" cousins.
I'm 70, retired, and enjoy studying family history and finding my roots. I recently enjoyed an outing over in Warwoman Valley in Rabun Co., Ga. where the Walls and Becks of your line lived.
Nice to hear from you. Let me know if I can be of any help.

RE: Rebecca Duncan williams
Artimisa (spelling varies through the census records) Collins was born in SC - Pickens county, I think, around 1810. She may have married Daniel Duncan around 1829 and in 1830 and 1840 censuses she, of course, is not named in his household since only the heads of households were named in those censuses. But I find her in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses in Rabun county, GA. Daniel appears to have died when their youngest son was a toddler. I don't know who Artimisa's parents are nor where she was buried, but would assume she was buried in Clayton, Rabun county, GA.

RE: Rebecca Duncan williams
Hi. My search on indicates she is the daughter of Daniel Duncan and Artemissa Collins. Her oldest sister was Jane E Duncan who married Charles T Conley and had a daughter, Susan, who may have later been raised by Jane's mother, Artemissa, as a Duncan. Artemissa's oldest son, David, married a Jane unknown and they had several children, including one named Rebecca, born in 1862.
