D Baker
This was the only stone close to what was requested, there were other Baker's but only this one had "Dickey" as a D, none of the ohter Baker graves had a name starting wtih a D...let me know if you want a further search

Bull
Today I took a quick trip out to Nichols Cemetery to Find A Grave for a family member. Have been to Nichols Cemetery many times, it is a little off the beaten path, but easy to find once you have been there a few times.

Noticed the gate was open when I arrived, no one else seemed to be there so just felt the folks who cut the grass (grass was freshly cut) did not close the gate properly and the wind blew the gate open.

Parked my SUV, walked in closing the gate behind me, took a quick glance about, you can see the entire Cemetery from the gate or so I thought. There is a small building off to the right that apparently obstructed my view of all in the Cemetery.

As I entered and moved to the left of the gate to where the grave was located noticed movement off to the right near the building. Found the grave and reached for my camera and took the grave picture. Realized at that moment the battery in the camera was dead. Started to walk back to the car to get a new battery and noticed more movement across the way near the only structure in the Cemetery.

Stopped, looked up and saw the largest black Bull I have seen in some time! Yep, the gate was left open so the Bull decided to wander in and walk about the Cemetery and see what could be seen.

I looked at the gate some thirty yards away, the gate was closed, the Bull was some fifty yards away. My mind was deciding if I could make the gate before the Bull, the Bull knew he had the advantage and waited on me to decide.

Moved toward the gate and the Bull moved toward the gate, stopped and the Bull stopped. Looked into the eyes of that Bull and he looked right back into my eyes and the race was on.

As I moved toward the gate at a full fun (like I could run full out anymore) and the Bull moved into high gallop and was closing fast when I noticed the fence to my right was just as good as any gate so changed my direction from the gate to the fence and some how managed to leap over the fence to safety on the other side.

The Bull who was in full motion towards the closed gate was not happy when my direction changed and he saw me go over the fence leaving him on the other side.

Made my way quickly to my SUV and got in for the safety of the vehicle just in case the Bull could move through or over the fence or gate. The Bull just stood at the gate with a discussed look on his face and a glare in his eyes that suggested luck was on my side this fine day.

About a hundred yards down the road was the entrance to an Angus Cattle Ranch, there were some folks on the road cutting grass. Made my way to their location to report the happy go lucky Bull in the Cemetery.

The cattleman were happy to know where their missing Bull was and headed that direction in their pickup truck to retrieve the Bull.

I did not wait around to see what happened with the Nichols Cemetery Bull.

Did not get the picture of the grave but will go back later to complete my picture mission...smiles and frowns.
