|James Sheffer||Martha Ann McGinnis Cureton Verble|
Hi Bill, I have submitted an edit on Martha Ann's name as I have found she was the daughter of John Calvin McGinnis and Telitha Toler. She first married James Cureton 9 Mar 1864 in Johnson Co and then Willis W Verble on 16 Aug 1871. Their daughter Cora is shown in the 1880 census in both the house of her parents and the house of her grandparents. After Martha's death in 1873 Willis married Nancy Elizabeth Bridges.
Willis and Nancy had a daughter, Minnie Verble, who married Charles Ferguson. Charles was the brother of my Grandmother, Sarintha Jane Ferguson Adams.
I have a copy of a photo taken in 1916 of Nancy with my ggrandpa, John Campbell Ferguson along with Minnie and Charles and their son and Benjamin H Ferguson, Charles' brother and his wife Lois Hileman Ferguson and their sons.
I believe we have many other connections thru your wife's family.
contact me for more info if you like.

|Richard Porter||Porter family inquiry|
My great grandfather was James Hanner Porter and he had a daughter, Jennie, born in 1884. She married a John Mathis. Your great uncle, John Henry Mathis, was married to Almeda Jane Porter. All of these people lived in Johnson Co, Illinois. Do you know if Almeda Jane and Jennie were related. I would also be interested in any info you might have on Porters in that area.
thank you, dick porter
