Greetings, Tammie
Hi: It's great to hear from you. Yes, this is Janet from Childrey. I live in Richmond now but get back when I can. It's nice to see someone else interested in the history too.

Grave Markers for Jordan
Hi: My father, Heywood Jordan, took my husband & myself out there a number of years ago after the DeJarnette Family Reunion. My husband took pictures of all the stones that we could. My father said that his father used to bring him to the cemetery as a child to visit his grandparents' graves (William M Jordan & Eliza Fowler Yates Jordan). He said they are under two of the field stones on the far side but he couldn't remember exactly which ones. I added them and George W. Rudder since I had a picture of his grave.

I hope so, wish I ever had a dog.

You're very kind. There are two sisters of Rosa and Eugenia(my direct line) that at least spent some time in Roanoke where a gravestone would really help with things such as when they die. One is Mary J Sauter who married a Jesse German. She was born around 1871 and was quite old still living in Roanoke. I'd be surprised if they weren't somewhere to be found.

The other is a Kate or Catherine Sauter, who married a fellow with a rather awkward name, I have it as a Jerome L. Compton Councell. I have her in Roanoke a few years, but she could be anywhere as far as I know.

Sauters again
I should perhaps recant that last statement, I was thinking too much about Rosa. One of her sisters who is something of a mystery to me married an unknown Walker and seems to have been widowed or divorced and then moved. Perhaps these were here kids. I will have to look more into this, it could help quite a lot.

Sauters cont
I somehow overlooked Mary, that was Mary Catherine who was also definitely a daughter of Rosa. I wrote "certainly" in my last post precisely because I saw Nellie, and though she is not in my records, most likely because she died young, I suspect she was also a child of Rosa.

I am not sure what connection if any the Walkers have.

Thanks again, and cute pup.

Thank you ever so much for adding those pictures of the Sauters and Gills, especially for Anthony and Catherine. Rosa was their daughter, and she married a Joseph Anthony Gill. Leslie and Joseph Jr are certainly her children.

RE: Zerbee-St. Andrew's
Let's combine the two into yours. My date of death was incorrect and should have been the 27th.
Use my date of birth on your memorial and we're all set.

What do you think? Let me know and I'll delete mine.
