Thank you very much for responding to our photo request. We ventured to Peru in 2009 in researching my Rev. War grandfather, Christopher Bowen. As I photographed his tombstone in the Peru cemetery, along with his wives who are buried alongside, it surprised me how well maintained the cemetery was. Our initial membership in the DAR was a result in documenting his war service.
Walking old cemeteries I marvel at how local pride assures the maintenance of the tombstones and grounds are retained. Peru cemetery was no exception, Peru should be proud of this heritage. Thank you.
