thank you for getting these graves for me. I am so happy to now have all the grave stones for Sanford Bartlett Family except for a young child that I haven't located and 1 adult. I appreciate your service to finda grave. Thank you.

You have done justice to Robert Wadsworth! Thank you so much. For anyone wanting the full documentation for joining the DAR or the SAR, they should be able to connect via my DAR number which is 773794. I also want to let you know, that I have entered a cemetery, in Cumberland Valley Twp, for his descendants that are buried there including his first wife Mary, who I descend from. I called it "Kelley-Wadsworth" and am just waiting to hear back from findagrave, for their approval. Robert's land on that mountain top was beautiful, when I visited there many years ago. Warren told me that there is another Wadsworth Cemetery on the other side of the mountain, but I did not go there. Did you find it? I would also like to know, if you took photos of all the other family stones where Robert is buried.

Thank you so much for the photograph. I very much appreciate your kindness.

I believe Robert said in his pension application that he joined the 8th Virginia Regiment in March, 1776. The 8th moved shortly after that from Virginia down towards South Carolina. The 8th did participate in that campaign. After the battle, the regiment headed towards Georgia and the city of Savannah. No battle was fought there, but after a short period of time marched back to Virginia.

Robert was then assigned to Washington's Commander-in Chief's Guard in 1777.

Robert's old 8th Virginia Regiment was combined into another regiment in 1779, and that regiment into another later on.

The second seige of Charleston was in 1781 or 1782. The battle was fought only with Continental line forces. No state militias were involved. The Americans lost the battle and every regiment surrendered to British forces. All American soldiers were transferred to prison ships for the duration of the war. Some officers and possibly a few non-coms were used in prisoner swaps. Most remained in captivity. There is no record that I know of which says Robert was a prisoner-of-war, so it is probable that he was not at the second seige. Hopefully someone in the future will untangled this uncertainty. I hope so. Again, thank you for the photo. It looks great!

I deleted the 13 star flag from Robert's memorial page. You can go ahead and enter the photo of his grave site on his home property. Thank you.
