RE: Jay Bhaer
Karen,

I remember exchanging some info with you a couple of years ago about the Bhaers. Jay was married to my grandmother's sister Anna.

Most of what I have about Alfred's first wife Nellie Babcock I got from you. I had mentioned to you that I traced Alfred and his then wife Stella to Detroit where he worked at the New England Pie Co. I lose track of them after 1942 so I don't know when they died or where they are buried. It looks like Thomas Boney is on the same trail and may be able to help you more than I.

Jay C and A Bhaer
Karen, I am married to Joyce Ann (Bhaer) Boney and have read your message to Davidrr07 asking for information about a Alfred J Bhaer. My wife and I believe that your g g grandfather
could be the Al Bhaer that was living in Detroit as she remembers visiting he and his wife Stella around 1950-51 when she was 10 or 11 years old. Joyce has no memory of any conversations with her father about uncle Al as they called him, being married and having any children prior to his marrying Stella. However this cannot be ruled out as information about him during this time is very limited.

Joyce's father was Alva Clifford Bhaer, son of Samuel Z Bhaer who was the only child of Alfred Bhaer, brother of Samuel H Bhaer who's sons were Jay Clifford Bhaer and Al Bhaer.

We are the process of trying to pull all this information together and if we can be of any help to you just let me know.

RE: Jay C Bhaer
Karen, Jay C Bhaer was married to my grandmother's sister Anna, so we have a connection. Jay & Anna had two daughters, Leona & Gertrude.

Unfortunately I know little about Jay's siblings. I do have a few Bhaer odds and ends such as a newspaper clipping and marriage record for A. L. Bhaer to Estella Minkwit in Oct 22 1904 that lists A. L.'s birthdate as Sep 15 1879. It also says that he was previously married once and has no wife living. In addition I have a 1920 Census with A. L and Stella Bhaer living in Detroit MI with no children listed and a 1905 newspaper adv for an "Al. Bhaer" offering a $5 reward for his lost dog. He lived in Bowling Green at the time. I don't know if this is the person that you're looking for.

I'll look to see what else I have.

Oh, that makes sense now. However, I would not have been able to do that as the linking needs to be done from Kenn's memorial. Or stated another way: child to parent, not parent to child. Sorry ~ Jan

Vern Cornelius' Memorial
I am glad that you found him on this site and that you approve. I don't think I understood all of your message, so I just transferred the memorial to your care. You can fix it in your own way and that is best anyway. Thank you for your kind words. ~ Jan
