Bio Photo If I manage the memorial of a family member or friend of yours, I'll be pleased to transfer. It's so exciting to find things you are looking for! :)

It annoys me when people here treat memorials like their personal property - like memorials are trading cards to collect and hoard. ಠ_ಠ

You know the ones! These memorials are the property of Find A Grave. We are just caretakers.

I am *always* happy to transfer, except when the person is my own relative (and no one is closer) or ones I have a special interest in. Even those I will pass on to a relative of any distance.

I have even transfered to non-relatives with a special interest in the deceased.

PHOTO NOTE: I did not take the photos of Brooklyn Hts Cemetery in Cleveland. They were ALL originally transcribed and photographed by a very nice lady, Susanna Pretzer. She was completing a project to earn the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.
I checked with her, and have permission to post her photos and add the names. She said, "I definitely didn't know how physically and organizationally demanding it would be when I started, but that made it all the more satisfying...The idea was to get the information to the people who want it, so go for it. If it'll reach interested people who might not find it where it is currently online or in hard copy at the Western Reserve Historical Society, then it's good." --Thanks, Susanna!

Another note on PHOTOS: I give my permission to copy any photos I have taken for your own use or for another site. There are only a few -of thousands- that I have posted which I did not take personally. Just ask, please, so I make sure you are taking something I shot.

RE: dog buried at fire house
This is all I can find in an old email:
"As far as the headstone is concerned, the story I was told was the headstone had errors on it. How the guys got it I don't know. The firemen from station #9 used it to bury their beloved station dog which got run over by the Apparatus."

And other pioneer cemeteries in the area. Wow. A whole category "cemetery" on eBay. Who knew? Thanks again.

RE: Memorial# 61716209

I've put the Samuel Smith "group" gravestone photo on the Frank K-9 Smith memorial, as you requested.

Best wishes,

Didn't have $4 for the burial?? Wow. Then the other just put someone in there. I tend to believe we will never know half the people buried there, I have some unknown people there, and I know you do too. It is sad, that we will never know who they are. I guess in the day, you could probably do just about anything, and as long as you didn't get caught it was okay. I think Woodland has alot of untold stories, but you seem to be finding very interesting things.

I agree, I help this girl with updating graves in Cincinnati, and we noticed, sometimes 2 or 3 people were in the same grave, this was back in the like 1800, and she said, people would just come in and bury their loved ones, and no one ever knew. I find that very odd, but she said they did, and that was evident from what the internment information said. Then I thought, Hum, at least we wouldn't have to pay for a funeral. I know, sick idea, but it is a thought.

That is just weird, it sounds like if the funeral director had been there, he would have never told the family he wasn't in there. That makes me wonder if my family is all where they are supposed to be!! These are great articles you are finding, weird, but good!!

RE: Katherine Bregenzer of Woodland
Thanks for the update. With your details and my photographs we should be able to increase Find A Graves database greatly. Yes I am aware of the Cleveland Cemetery database but not the Newspaper database until now. At this time I am at least creating new memorials and uploading photographs. I plan to fill in the details in the near future. (give me something to do during the winter months) I will work on the sections that you haven't done so far.
