Lindsay photos at Lawn Cemetery
A belated thank you for not only photographing the gravestone of Clinton Levoy Lindsay, but also for creating the memorial for his wife. I was unsure of her burial location, so this was greatly appreciated.

RE: PVT John Andrews
He was taken prisoner July 30, 1864. In Dec of 1864 the 32nd and 31st Maine had lost so many men, they were consolidated into one regiment. The 31st. All soldiers of the 32nd whether in the hospital sick, in a prison camp, or just MIA were also transferred. The records do not list the date of John's parole, but after his parole he most likely was sick and died in April at a hospital or at home. Records indicate that he was absent/sick July 15, 1865 when the 31st Maine was mustered out. They were probably not aware at the time of muster out that he had passed. A lot of the POW's were either dead or still in hospitals but their fate or where abouts were not known at the time of muster out but had to be accounted for, so they were listed as absent/sick at muster out.

Thank you so much! My mother lives in Randolph and the trip has become too much for her. Living in Oklahoma makes it a bit too much for me as well! I really do appreciate this. Charles was killed in a slate mine (Portland-Monson) blasting accident when my Mom was eight. I was born in 57, so I never met him. Selma was my favorite grandmother. My other grandmother died when I was 8, so I don't really remember her either.

Hi Wayne-
Researching the Reuben L. Town(e)s "killed by the cars" headstone @ Wilton's Weld St. Old Town Cemetery which you photographed (Find A Grave#149567140) & noted the Wight family you're researching ties in (in case you hadn't already discovered that!)
