Bora Family

Thank you for posting the pictures of Joseph and Marie. I have the "family tree" on, so any additional information or photographs you can provide would be great. Please let me know if you would be interested and I will add your email address (I think I found you as a guest member).

Keep up the great work!

Memorials 107947929 & 85319704

Realize that the large Crucifixion is sited at the northeast corner of 3rd Calvary not 1st (old) Calvary.

1st/old Calvary, divisional name is St. Calixtus Division (south side of Greenpoint Ave.), is demarcated by it's gates with the embossed center plate "St. Calixtus", a Pope & patron Saint of grave diggers.

Just pass the gates is an Architectural classic red brick gate house building. The church, just outside the cemetery, St. Raphael's is of similar architceture.

The church within 1st Calvary by my brother Larry is also an architectural beauty that was written up in Popular Mechanics in 1910.

Headstone Pics & Old Calvary Sectional Site Plan

You'll probably want to re-order order of photos.

William J. Walsh
I'd mentioned that there was a William J. Walsh buried in Green-Wood in 1944. The stone bears this minimal inscription:

William J.
Kate V.

That's it, not even a date. William (b 1869) was interred Jan 5 1944, and Kate V (b, 1873), his 2nd wife, Dec 7, 1962.

Memorial 85319704 - Rose O'Neill McElroy
No problem, as mentioned earlier the maternal side of my family are McElroys (most Co. Monaghan) and Pruntys (Co. Longford) and also via marriage on my Father's side, of which some Cullens and Haskins appear to be out of Kingscourt. Although most Haskins are out of Dublin City (see Memorial# 107852260), while Cullens are more dispersed.

We lost our first brother (out of five) this past Thanksgiving and he's also in 1st Calvary - diagonally across from Section 2 in Secton 45 - a couple of graves away from former NYS Governor & presidential candidate Al Smith. See Memorial# 101656836.

IF I get the chance I'll upload a sectional site plan map demarcating the location of Jas. & Rose.

Finally, note that the background of both pictures each have a key feature of the NY skyline - the Citigroup Bldg (of which a mentor of mine as a young man oversaw the planning & building of its top) - the other shows the Empire State Building.
