I have always been interested in genealogy and I have recently started tracing my ancestors. I've always loved history and it is really cool when you can connect your ancestors with the history you learned in school. While on the trail of my ancestors, I feel I can contribute to this website and pay respect to the men and women who have served this country by photographing and or documenting the veterans. Most of the veterans I have placed on this website are not related and the only info I have is that (1) they were a veteran (2) the information that is on their head stone. If they are related to you I would be happy to place their memorial in your care.

Shelby Ferguson-Rittman
Is that you?? It's Shelby Rittman (Paula McMurrough's daughter)! Haha! Isn't this website amazing?!?!?! So many things to learn! I just got my Mom to check out the website a few minutes ago, as she is now intrigued as to where I got the screenshot photos of some of the McMurroughs from (I just started on here about 3 days ago). Talk to you later! Love ya, cuz! :)

Hiram Laird
Do you know the parents of Hiram Laird # 50980723?

I believe them to be Wm H. Laird (1823 -1864) and Mary Elizabeth Jones (1833 -1920) # 35537175.

M.E. Jones married Wm H Laird in 1853 and had 4 children with him, Martha J, Rufus Hardin, Hiram Jones, and Albert. After his death, she remarried to John Polk, and they moved to Texas between 1880 and 1900.

Thanks. Steve Collins
