|Suzanne A||John Montgomery Sr. memorial|
Hi. I'm a Montgomery descendant. If you wrote the lengthy and very informative family history on this memorial I'd like to be in touch. Did you know the history of the elaborate tombstone on this grave? It was placed there by the local DAR in a project of the 1920's in which they wished to recognized Illinois Patriots. But they confused this John Montgomery with an earlier man who also served in the Revolution with distinction, was a hero of the colonial Indian Wars and for whom Montgomery County TN is named. email@example.com Best wishes and thanks for sharing all this work on the family tree!

Anytime you run across a memorial that belongs to our One Foot In The Grave (OFITG) group that you would like transferred, just let me know. No lengthy explanation necessary, just the memorial number(s) and your Find A Grave member number. So you'll know, the vast majority of the memorials we manage were created by John Melton. He died a year and a half ago and fortunately had the foresight to assemble some time before that a group of researchers, mostly in the Central Illinois area, and transfer his memorials to that group. There are some half dozen of us now in that group, who collectively manage all the memeorials, and I do my best to answer emails and fulfill requests for the group. It might be easier if you need to exchange emails with me to use my personal address
|One Foot In The Grave||John Montgomery - Duplicate Memorials|
There is no way to "merge" duplicate memorials that I know of - the normal way to handle that situation is to delete the youngest or most recently created memorial. The memorial that you have cited in the body of your Suggestion ( #34943914) is the most recent one but the group of researchers I belong to doesn't own that one. You would have to ask the "owner" by way of the EDIT box to have it deleted, then you're at the mercy of the owner and of Find A Grave. It's not a very satisfactory situation, which is why you come across so many duplicates on Find A Grave.

I sent you an email with links, pictures of the Andersons of Lisbon mixing with my family, the Pettersens, sometime between 1900--1910. Also a picture of Anderson shops with proprietors sitting outside.

I transferred William Poplett - let me know if there are any others you need.

I've added a note about the other children in the bio but I can certainly transfer the memorial also if you wish.
