I will be traveling a lot this year, so please bear with me if it takes me longer than usual to do requested updates. I will get to ALL submissions! |
I'm always looking for additional family connections, so if one of my memorials is an ancestor or relative of yours, most likely we are connected in some way. I'm always willing to share information with family!
Virtually all of my entries/memorials are for family members. Some of my managed memorials "may" not be.
My family database includes over 13,645 and keeps growing every day.
NOTE: Permission is given to anyone who wishes to use any "Headstone" photo I may have taken and posted on this site (credit would be nice but not required ON THIS SITE!)
Permission to copy, re-post online, etc. of ANY actual photo of a person who is memorialized here by me is specifically REFUSED! Please DO NOT copy and post my family copyrighted photos of people to any webpage, blog, etc. This includes Ancestry.com! You may use those photos in your personal database as long as they are not made available to the public online.
**Please do not put death certificates on memorials I manage**

Pics added and other entry transferred. I looked through the rest of the pics I have from this section and do not have any other Monroe to enter. If the weather gets nice over the weekend I will try to get the rest of the cemetery.

You're welcome! I also have pics of Zalmond & Mildred Monroe, if you would like to add the memorial and I can add pic? Can also transfer Lawrence to you. I am still working on taking pics and sorting what I have, so I will try to keep an eye out for these last names, but be sure to keep checking the cemetery in case I forget. Also I try to keep the status of the cemeteries updated on my profile page so that should let you know when I'm done as well.

Hi! I have been working on taking pictures of Mountain View Cemetery and took pictures of two of your entries for Monroe, Charles #140757769 & Nellie #140757832. Pics were added to the memorials, feel free to use them if you would like. Also, there is another entry I added that is linked with this headstone, Lawrence #147841351. Is this a relative of yours? I see the rest of Monroe are linked.

Ah don't you love a good mystery? Glad I could get you going.
I have seen the surname spelled Kizer, Keiser, Kiser, and Keyser. My family spelled the name Keiser and Keyser. I am descended from Christian via his son Thomas. FYI, Thomas did NOT head to Wisconsin. He stayed in Luzerne County, PA until he died.
You got me thinking a little.
Sarah - 1860 census does place her birth date at 1846 and I agree with you that a 53-year-old mother is not likely. 1850 census also points to an 1846 birth date, by the way.
However, the 1880 census puts her birth year at 1853. Which means if she was Christina's daughter, she would have been in her mid-40s - unusual but more likely than the first scenario. And if we believe that Ellsworth is correctly identified as a nephew (grand-nephew), then it's not a huge leap to accept Sarah is correctly identified as Christian's daughter.
It's also possible that Christina Keiser's birth year of around 1795 is wrong.
I've seen censuses misidentify daughters as nieces and granddaughters so we can't necessarily trust that either.
One thing to note, but again inconclusive, is that Charles and Frances are listed as single while Sarah Dixon is listed as widowed. Making a case for Ellsworth's surname to be Dixon.
Is Ellsworth listed in the burial plot as Ellsworth Keiser? Perhaps his burial record could shed some light. Of course, if he and Frances are the only ones buried together that does make a strong case for mother and son.
So based on the censuses alone I'd say we can't resolve these issues. I think you're right, a look into the birth or death records might shed some light on the relationships of these people.
For what it's worth, I can't find Sarah in the 1870 census. Tried looking for her as Keiser, Kizer and Dixon but no luck yet.
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to talk more privately.

Thanks Spence; I check this site everyday. Can't go without. Haven't been to a cemetery lately, but one day we should set up a findagrave (re)union at one of them!!

Bad news on this request. I searched the cemetery and couldn't find a marker for Emma. I spoke to the caretaker -- he has no record of her. The two Croop stones that I found are already documented on Find A Grave. If she's in this cemetery, I don't think there's any marker to photograph. Tim

You'll need to move, because I don't know anyone buried in CA. :-)
By chance, I noticed that you have a request in Kizer Cemetery. I've been planning a trip that will take me right by there, so maybe I'll be able to get that one for you too.

I changed the location of the cemetery for Mr. O'Neill. When I checked my resources, two of them are not in agreement and, unfortunately, I picked the wrong one. But the cemetery has been corrected. Thank you for letting me know. Carol, Ewing, NJ
