| Bio and Links | My son and I got into family genealogy research in early December 2010. He found my dad's memorial and headstone on the FindAGrave site. I joined Find A Grave to add a memorial for my mom and to upload a new double headstone photo with both names for both memorials.
Being recently retired [July 2010], I decided be a volunteer photographer. The timing was awful, with the first requests popping up as our first nor'easter of the season was approaching.
My wife and I went out to take pictures at the Dalton/Main Street cemetery, Dalton MA, right after the storm. We had some success and were hooked.
Spring 2012 Update: We are still enjoying our graving, but the cost of traveling around has caused us to plan our cemetery visits around other travel, errand, etc. We even checked for requests while on travel In March 2012 to Key West, FL, and Stowe, VT. (Talk about running hot and cold!)
I really really enjoy connecting with other contributors and helping with their photo requests and family research.
To those who are requesting a photo in a large cemetery, please take the time to get section and plot number from the cemetery office, if there is one. This will
You may use my photos for your personal use, such as family tree sites, e-mails to family, etc.; anything else - please contact me for permission. I usually keep the original hi-res files, so contact me by e-mail, if you need one.
Kelly Patenaude Townsend provided a DVD with thousands of photos from numerous Massachusetts cemeteries, which I will use to fulfill requests. Kelly is a registered nurse who contracts at facilities around the country, and she uses her free time to photograph cemeteries, wherever she is assigned. Before she moves on to her next assignment, she donates a CD with her photos to the local library and historical society.
When I use Kelly's photos, I give attribution in a caption to the photo. | |

p.s. do you by chance have a picture of the cemetery gate where it says the name of the cemetery - just wondering - no big deal if you don't. Thanks again | | | Lorraine Gee
 | Mary Bradford headstone photo Thanks for getting this headstone for me. I live 2,000 miles away, and obviously can't get there myself. You're the best! -Lorraine Gee | | | lenice white
 | Permilia Thomas Thank you so much for the picture. I should have had a memorial ready for George so you could have added this picture to that memorial as well. Can you tell me if the surname was on the other side of the stone - or where it was - in order for you to find the right stone. Thank you again so much for your time and talent. I appreciate your help. | | | Louise K
