Laura Evelyn Moon Helton
Hi John,
I wrote the biography that appears on Laura's site on I've edited it this morning so that perhaps it's a bit more clear. This is one of those families that was lost until I started searching for them. What spurred me on the search was the fact that I have in my home a beautiful round oak table that belonged to Rosa Carpenter Vann, the grandmother of Katie. In my family, the table always was called "Cousin Rosa Vann's table" as if it was named. Rosa died in 1954 in Conroe TX where she had lived with daughter Katie for her last 3 years of life, her body was returned to New Hope, Madison County, Alabama for burial, my aunt purchased the table at an estate sale in New Hope in the 1950s, and my mother purchased the table from my aunt in the 1960s in New Hope. When my mother died in 1997 in New Hope, I brought the table to my home in Texas, and I live near Conroe. I think it's kind of neat that Cousin Rosa Vann's table is now near the town where she passed away in 1954. Both she and table moved from Alabama to Texas.

Laura Evelyn Moon Helton
Hi John,
I added Evelyn to Laura's name earlier. I don't know what else you're asking me to do. Laura was the daughter of Katie Vann Moon and Katie was a young widow with 4 daughters when she married Jesse Helton sometime after 1922 when her first husband died in Alabama. Katie and her girls then moved to Texas with Jesse. I don't know why they used the name Helton on Laura's tombstone, but I have written in the bio on Find A Grave that Laura's correct surname was Moon. By 1930, the 3 surviving daughters were all using Moon as their surname even though they were living with Jesse Helton and Katie. It's a confusing situation but Laura was lost to other family genealogists being listed as "Laura Helton."

RE: James Polk Miller
Death certificate, SSDI, and Death Index show Dec 5, so I changed it to Dec. Headstone shows Nov 5. Who knows? I guess someone made a mistake on the headstone.

Browns of VA/WV
Hi, I was going through my edits and saw your request for George, Isaac and Nancy Brown. I set those memorials up quite some time ago and must have forgotten to go back and edit them, as I knew that Isaac wasn't born in WV. Not sure how that info was still there! Anyway, are you related to the Browns at all? Isaac is my 3rd great grandfather. Please let me know if you are family!

Irish Rain
RE: Charles W. Anderson, Sr.
Hi there,
I found his death record, 1915 is correct. I took his original birth date from his marriage license with Gladys.
I have fixed the memorial and added his parents.
Thanks so much for asking and helping me correct his memorial.
