Both pictures are posted on his memorial.
Have a good weekend.
AGP Pulaski County Coordinator.
I am with the Arkansas Gravestones Project. Both pictures are on our site, and the cemetery is complete. I took a few more today, that I will soon get uploaded and the cemetery will again be complete, but it is now as of last year. Our website is www.arkansasgravestones.org
Did a little more checking...this Robert H. was born in 1885 not 1911. Older brother of Claude?
Karen, there is a Robert H. Thornton from Wood County listed in the WWI draft registration cards 1917-1918 but no Edward or Claude. You may want to check this out.
Karen, I think the WWI marker was placed on the wrong grave...Robert would only have been 6 years old. Could it have been his father's?
Robert Henry Thornton is buried under just Robert Thornton in Block O, site 57, lot 2. There is no stone. The burial record says just WWI soldier, Bur:17 April 1936. No other information.
He is buried next to Edward Claud Thornton who lies in Block O, site 57, lot 1. Again, there appears to be no stone. The burial record says Bur: 21 Dec. 1933. No other information.
Others in Site 57 are Elizabeth Ruple, lot 3, no stone, Bur: 3 Nov. 1936. No other information. Ray Thornton, lot 4, no stone, Bur:9 May 1956. No other information.
Hope this helps. Contact me if you have any other Fort Meigs questions.
