Having recently retired from a career in aerospace, the genealogy bug was planted in my ear by my loving wife, Donna. We have been traveling across Texas and New Mexico visiting cemeteries of my ancestors. The picture is artwork in a Texas town along Highway 380.|
I have been overwhelmed with a wealth of information (thanks to the internet) on my lines of Tuttle, Means, Thurston, Lake, Brown, Gibson, Bryant, & Pattison. I have just begun!
Donna and I discovered the Aspermont Cemetery in Aspermont, Texas on the way back from New Mexico in October 2010. It struck us that much of the history there was lacking on Find A Grave, and we resolved to document the entire cemetery. A second trip in February 2011 convinced us it was a bit overwhelming; however, we planned a third trip October 2011 and spent three days, snapping away. All our photos are now posted and new pages created.
Please feel free to contact us through Find A Grave for corrections and additions.

Found him in Haskell County, and submitted the links to his parents.

I think you're right about Sallie and Joe. It'd be great if you can get them linked to their parents.
BTW, I'm trying to track down Lewis Bulloch Tillotson's grave, and I hit a small roadblock. Someone incorrectly identified him as being in another "Tillotson" grave so I submitted a correction. Doesn't look like they've been active for a while, so it may take a while to get done. I know where he should be buried and it's just a matter of time before I locate the grave, I hope.

I did find a notice in the Aspermont Star under the heading of "Resolutions of Respect," dated 14 June 1908 and published on June 25th that mentions Sarah's passing. Since it didn't also include the infant daughter, I'm thinking she lived a while longer.
I have a few other obits/death notices for this family that need to be transcribed, then I'll shoot you a copy.

No Headstone left to photograph, listed in cemetery registry as Mary (Thyng) Mary Thyng has the same d. 1933 and same plot location of 21 as Mary Thurston. So we figured she might be buried under a maiden name of Thyng. If this is true there is No marker at all for Her exact location in the cemetery. Thank You and God Bless

I visited there some years ago but don't live locally. I wish I had a better answer to your question. Good luck with a photo request--I hope the stone is in good condition and can be read.

I did a terrible job photographing the stone, didn't I. It's a child's stone and as nearly as I can guess she was 9Y 1M and 22D. There should be a town record, or you could request a photo and ask the photographer to clear the debris to find the age.

Sorry I was not able to find a grave marker. These section of the Greenfield Cemetery is one of the oldest and many stones are missing or not legible and a fair number never had markers.
I get to Greenfield once or twice a year and will keep an eye out. Just this year I found a grave marker that I had search for before that was listed as being several rows away from where it actually was. Some one made a mistake and entered plot 11 instead of plot 41 and I had been looking in the wrong place.

Donald, I really dont know if Im related to Valentine Allen. The "twig" Im following is Alanson Charles Allen and his immediate family; two of his daughters married two Wilcox brothers (my father's people). Ive fleshed out several bare-bones Find A Grave pages on some Allen family members in Massachusetts and linked them up. Ive reached some dead ends (no pun intended)on where and when several Allen family members are buried. Id be open to any suggestions. =)
