Having recently retired from a career in aerospace, the genealogy bug was planted in my ear by my loving wife, Donna. We have been traveling across Texas and New Mexico visiting cemeteries of my ancestors. The picture is artwork in a Texas town along Highway 380.|
I have been overwhelmed with a wealth of information (thanks to the internet) on my lines of Tuttle, Means, Thurston, Lake, Brown, Gibson, Bryant, & Pattison. I have just begun!
Donna and I discovered the Aspermont Cemetery in Aspermont, Texas on the way back from New Mexico in October 2010. It struck us that much of the history there was lacking on Find A Grave, and we resolved to document the entire cemetery. A second trip in February 2011 convinced us it was a bit overwhelming; however, we planned a third trip October 2011 and spent three days, snapping away. All our photos are now posted and new pages created.
Please feel free to contact us through Find A Grave for corrections and additions.

Given the accuracy of your entries to date with respect to dates and relationships, I am no longer as confident as to her identity. It looks like there are multiple Sally Mannings.

I've lost track of who made the photo request for her, I think it was you - if not disregard.
I was a little stumped; there is a long row of Manning children who are all children of Sally and John Manning, her husband is there, but next to him is buried Sally Lawrence. Checking MVR, Sally appears to have re-married after the death of John. The year does not agree with what is on the memorial, which further adds to the confusion. If you don't want to accept that, let me know and I'll take down the photo.

Hi Don, remember me? I just had to tell you what I discovered last night while researching...your cousin Cathy (my sister-in-law & a descendent of Valentine Allen as you are) is also a blood relative to my husband Bill! I learned that Bill is a descendant of Valentine's sister Susanna and therefore ya'll are cousins. In a separate twist, I've recently found that both my husband and myself are 13th cousins to our son-in-law and therefore we are distant cousins to our grandson as well as being his grandparents! (You're our grandson's cousin also through the Allen line.) What a crazy, small world this is 😄

Hi Donald, I have moved the photo to the correct memorial. Ashby has some beautiful memorials and they were perfectly lit the day I passed by. Thanks for your alert eye and your attentive care!

OK. I'll remove it, since I didn't create it anyway, but I wasn't sure what to do. Thank you.

Yes, the information helps a little. After I was thinking about it for a bit, I realized that its entirely possible that at one time the First Parish Burial Ground could have been part of the Village Cemetery. The reason for my confusion comes from the fact that in the Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots, the cemetery location is Village Cemetery located in Ashby, 55. (I can't figure out what 55 is) Unfortunately, that's the only info it shows and if I want to see the whole thing I have to order the document. Its from Vital Check. I can't stand the info that doesn't allow me to check the document itself.

Your picture on this memorial could be added to his wife's memorial.

I couldn't find out who is in Grave #1. Would you happen to know who that might be?

You're very welcome. I try to get them done within a day or two but this time of year I prefer doing them when it isn't raining or snowing so thought I'd get them done before it rains again later today. Samuel Simonds' grave is unmarked. I put a comment with the photo.
