I am so amazed that you found that photo of Lura and her mother in a antique shop. Granny Hollis (Elizabeth Jane Pepper Phillips Hollis was my great great grandmother and Lura was my great grand Aunt. I have pictures of Elizabeth with her other daughter Ruth Evie Phillips Thomaston. Thank you for sharing.

I would like to add the photo of Amelia Chapman Trana's (# 75315151) obit to my family tree on Ancestry. She was my 8th cousin 2x removed,not close but still family.

That's interesting. Rumor had it that Soren never remarried. If he did remarry, why did his obit not mention anything about it? Did she die before he did?
|Chris A Fuchser||Thanks|
Thanks for leaving picture and obituary about Soren Sam Hermansen. His wife Lena who tragically died in the flu epidemic was sister to my grandfather Emil. Such a sad story.
|Jason Cerny||RE: McParland photo|
My grandfather's brother Fred was married to a Alma Barth. Is this the relation?
|Jason Cerny||McParland photo|
Saw the photo you placed on James McParlands memorial of their home in Rushville. My grandfather says the house is still there so I will have to run by the next time I am there visiting my grandmother. Thanks
Brenda, linked Foxes in Monroe IOOF, suspect Raymond is a son also - he's in the same plot

Brenda, thanks for pointing that out. For most of my family lines I'd jump on that. However, Andrew wrote a lot of letters, and my mom already has some that he had written to my grandparents.
Thank you so much for the help. You are appreciated. Lisa

UNION-BULLETIN: WALLA WALLA, WASH, MONDAY FEBRUARY 26, 1951:
LONGTIME STATE RESIDENT DIES IN NURSING HOME: Mrs. Marie Gertrude Hassenpflug, 91 years old, died Monday morning in a nursing home where she had lived for some time. Born October 22, 1859 in Germany, Mrs. Hassenpflug came to New York with her husband, the late C. C. Hassenpflug, when she was 30. Later they came west to Idaho and then to Washington state, where she had lived 55 years. The family lived many years on South Fourth.
Survivors are five daughters Mrs. J. C. (Mamie) McNab of Vancouver, B. C.; Mrs. W. B. (Emma) Martin of Seattle; Mrs. Tom (Charlotte) Setz of Okanogan; Mrs. Lisette Achenbach of Seattle; Mrs. W. B. Young of Wallula and a son C. C. Hassenbach of Okanogan. Mrs. Hassenpflug was a member of the old order, the Sisters of Herman.
I am working on connecting people, and saw that you had posted a lot on this lady, and thought you might not have a copy of the obituary. Lisa
