I grew up in Anderson, Indiana and my mother grew up in Lapel. I have been working on the Hersberger and Stottlemyer lines. I also have great-grandparents who were Commons, Moore, Norris, Stiner, Gaver, Huntzinger, Anderson in the Lapel area. Many came from Frederick County, Maryland and I've done some research there. Through my father's side I am a member of the Indiana Society of Civil War Families. My great-grandfather fought with the 54th Indiana at Vicksburg and his only two brothers were killed in the Civil War. The more research I do, the more Civil War connections I have found although only the one direct ancestor.|
I live in Oregon now so all of my research is from a long distance.

Thanks, Ann, for adding the photo to Edward Thornburg's memorial. Pictures add so much to a memorial plus shows, like his age at death.

Hi Ann - After a little research I added an excerpt from the "History of Clinton County . . ." to both Robert (#15541299) and Christina Kidd Hagler (#35055074) Turner's memorial pages, which supports your findings on his death date. Thanks for the great catch and thanks for all you do for F-A-G!!
Sorry he is 106998425

I submitted a photo for your request for Rachel Dilts. There was another headstone for Dilts next to theirs and I took a picture of that one too if you would like it. The first names are Montrew J Dilts and Lyman K Dilts. Their dates are 1911-1983 and 1912-1970 respectively.

No...I'm not related to the Thomas family. I'm just taking care of Chuck Lewis' memorials.
Excellent job on Leonard and Leah. The memorials look great and the information is invaluable .

I've just transferred her to you.
You can see her memorial was originated by Chuck Lewis. He passed away last December and I contacted Find A Grave and volunteered to care for his memorials so people would at least get answers when requesting changes, additions or transfers.
It's very exasperating to request changes, etc. and that originator has passed away or no longer is interested in Find a Grave! It takes up to a year to get the changes, etc. made!
I know you will take care of Leah!

Be my guest, the cemetery is a lovely one sounded by trees so most all the stones were n very good shape.
