 | RE: Vera & Lola Rolphing Cecil, My information on both Vera and Lola is very limited. I am happy to share what I do have on both of them.
Vera and Lola were sisters. They had three brothers: William Ray, B 1920; Lester Arthur, B 1928; Kenneth Irwin, B 1928.
Vera: Vera May Rohlfing, born 1924 in Illinois, father was Arthur Wilhelm Hermann Rohlfing, mother was Effie M Tope, residence in 1930 was a farm in Degognia Township, Jackson Co, IL, confirmed in 1938 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Point. She attended through the 6th grade at Buchanan School southwest of Percy. Buchanan school is no longer standing as it was torn down in about 2004. Vera finished 7th and 8th grades at the Parochial Lutheran School at West Point and graduated from Gorham High School in 1948. After high school Vera went to work in St. Louis and met her husband, Harold Enders. I don't know when they were married, not do I have any information regarding her husband or their children. She lived in Steeleville at the time of her mother's death in 1985, according to her mother's obituary. Bertha Becker told me Vera's middle name was May. A letter received from a mutual cousin of Vera's and mine indicated Vera died in 2008, I assume in Steeleville, but I am not sure where she is buried.
Lola: Lola Esther Rohlfing was born 1926 in Illinois, father was Arthur Wilhelm Hermann Rohlfing, mother was Effie M Tope, residence in 1930 was a farm in Degognia Township, Jackson Co, IL, confirmed in 19938 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Point.
A lady who volunteers at the Randolph Genealogy Society in Steeleville mentioned to me she knew one of Vera and Lola's brothers. I believe her name is Virginia Mansker, but I am not sure. You might call Randolph Genealogy Society and ask who grew up in the area of Gorham and obtain some additional information regarding your classmates. The phone number is 618-965-3705.
A small item, but the name is spelled Rohlfing.
I would be interested in hearing from you anything about the family when they were living in the area.

 | Robert R Choate Hi Cecil, Thanks for letting me know that Bob is buried in Jackson County, not Randolph. I deleted the memorial as there is an existing memorial for him in the correct cemetery. Appreciate your help. SharonAdded by AZLITE on Apr 25, 2013 9:21 PM | | | Mona Anderson
