Looking for all 13 children and their families from Patrick William Corcoran and Emeline Amanda Alley. We are hosting a trip to Huddersfield, England 2011, County Mayo, Ireland 2012 and Lawrence, TN 2013. Richardson--in Carroll County, TN 2014. Hunter--in Arkansas 2015. We need everybody's help to follow our families trails! |
We have over 14,000 family members with surnames of Corcoran-Hunter-Richardson-Zook-Moseley-Downing-King-Crowley and many more surnames on ancestry.com. And, over 12,000 family members on my maiden name side--Seifferlein and Leyes families from Germany to South Bend, Indiana. Besides our German heritage we claim French, Austrian, Swiss and Prussian royalty.

My mother Elnora Seifferlein Leyes has spent 74 years researching genealogy of our direct line. She traveled to Europe seven times to gain stamped records from the archives. She went to the Morman Church in Utah before computers many times, to fill in missing family members dates and places.
Our line is much more complete because of her extraordinary efforts, starting with her grandmother in the 1940's and taking notes and using her newly puchased box camera to record family events.
Mom inspired the whole family to continue her work forward. I have taken many of these documents, newspaper clippings and photographs and placed them both on ancestry.com and here on findagrave.com. Thank you mom for inspiring us and seeing the value in preserving our hertitage!

We made a contribution to The Ellis Island Foundation--"The Wall of 700,000 Immigrants"--for Patrick William Corcoran's name was unveiled July 2011 in New York City. We paid for a headstone to mark his grave on Laurel Hill in April 2011. These two commemorate our first Corcoran family in America. We have a 9 generation wall chart. We are working on a book. We will share our GEDCOM file.
These lines included 3 European Royalties--Kings of England--Egbert, Henry I and Edward I. The famous Benjamin Crowley in Arkansas, are in our family, as well. We also have stories of our very poor families living in one room houses who were cotton mill workers, who never owned the house or the land beneathe them. All of these make our lines "colorful" and fun to explore! Migrations are mostly from NY>VA>NC>TN>AR>AL.

We believe genealogy should be free so living family members can connect. That's why we are adding some of our data here. We appreciate this site's opportunity, and we humbly thank the founder and his staff. Please give generously to this site to keep this tradition going.
Love hugs to all of my fellow genealogists who are so extraordinarly helpful. This is truely one gigantic puzzle that we spend thousands of hours on together. God Bless each and everyone of you for your humble part in preserving our sacred past! Thanks for being so nice and helpful.
Wendy Leyes and John Corcoran
I added the Old Bethel Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
This Baptist graveyard is abandoned. It has one half Alley-Ashmores buried there. The stones are now illegible. If you have any knowledge of the people buried here or any photographs please share!

|Rachel Conley||RE: David Miller's wife|
Hi Wendy! I did indeed photograph David Miller's wife's stone and have since added it. There were only the three of them in the particular plot, David Miller, his wife and son Archie.
You live rather close to me! Funny then that we connect through a grave in MI. :-) I love all of this cross-country exploring.
|Janet Knepper||RE: Thank you, Janet, for .....|

|Thomas Ladner||Re: Frank Miller Parents & all|
Note: After I keep working & covering most of the area in Roselawn. Which, I might missed a few... Its my Hope next. Try & Photograph a Series of Headstones in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Which pretty much has thousands of Names already entered into it! Just wished most of all the Memorials were Linked up.
These (2) Cemeteries in Saginaw, seem the Best to concentrate on. Which, could really Spark a whole lot of New History being uncovered.
If you find a Memorial I.D. for Alex D. Miller. Let me know! :) or Create one & lets get it linked for a Start.
|Lynn Simon||More Gaertners|
Fred Carl Gaertner, died 2001 is buried in St. Andrew Cemetery. (according to Obit. Index)
Leona Maupin is buried in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles according to Obit. Index.
Arthur J. Gaertner's grave address is F-11-308 according to the City of Saginaw's Cemetery Search. (This item is also linked to the Public Libraries of Saginaw Genealogy and History section)
Hope this helps, Lynn
|Lynn Simon||Public Libraries of Saginaw|
The Public Libraries of Saginaw have an "Obituary Index" that you can access from the drop-down menu GENEALOGY & HISTORY.
I typed "Gaertner" in the name box and hit enter. Results for Christine are: St. Andrew Cemetery. Same for her husband Leo.
Depending of how the obituary is written, the Index might have a great deal of information listed. If you are local, you can visit Hoyt Library and view the microfilm copy of the obituary.
The Hoyt Library now has a picture capture feature that is great. No more 10 cent copies unless you want one. I use a flash drive and keep an electronic copy only from now on.
If you are not local and want a copy, let me know. I visit Hoyt about once a month.
|Janet Taylor||RE: Haold Seiferlein # 120794712|
Yes, that is what we believe that he does not have a headstone and that is what the city of Saginaw Cemetery Search states also, no headstone. Not that they are always correct, but we looked and either he does not have a marker or it is buried under.
Lillian Gaertner is buried in Oakwood Mauseleum.
|Ann Maree||RE: Mary Lee Farncrook Stroh?|
I guess it was a longshot that you might be related! Bernard Stroh IV is #55108743, Mary Lee doesn't appear to have a page here, but I'm sure she's buried right next to him. Thanks for checking, like I said, I guess it was a longshot, but no harm in asking, right? :)
|Ann Maree||Mary Lee Stroh|
Hello, I was wondering if you knew anything about the wife of Bernhard Stroh IV. Before Mary Lee Forncrook married him, she was married for a brief time to Ronald Gordon Smith. I am trying to figure out what happened to him and his family line. Would you have any info on that? Thank you!
|Melanie Mardlin||Franz C. Kuhn|
I updated the cemetery lot information for you this morning. Have a great day!
