Hi Deb, I am married to Charles Thorn, who is the grandson of Delson Forest Thorn, who was married to Fern Hart. Delson and Fern were married about 1950 and they had no children. Fern was married prior to her marriage to Delson to Frank Lanard. I have not found her marriage records to either Delson or Frank. I know she and Delson lived on the old Frank Lanard farm in Ohio. Frank died of cancer and she married Del after Franks death. I met her several times and she was a real character and very outspoken. I remember that she smoked a pipe and her hair came down to her knees. She wore it in a twist on top of her head. She was tall and thin. I was told she had once been a school teacher. I do not know if you have seen pictures of Fern and Del, or not so I posted one on Find A Grave, Memorial #46217359. They are both buried at Centenary Cemetery in Washington County, Ohio. I do not believe that the death dates have been added to their stones. Dels daughter in law Anna McClung Thorn is also buried there. Her stone gives her husband Jerl's name but he is buried here in Georgia. Are you located in Ohio. I live in Marietta, Georgia.
Let me know if I can give you any information. I am working on the Thorn genealogy but have been working on my side (Linger Family) most of the time. I am just about at the end of that for awhile and then I will be concentrating on the Thorn family again.
I would be interested in any info on Fern.

I don't know an Orlo P Jarvis. I did find two George Peter Jarvis's, around the same age, from around Cutler,Oh in the Civil war. I have not researched the other Jarvis family to see if there is some kind of connection. I would be interested in hearing more about your Jarvis's.
