|Rich Dohm||Hollywood Cemetery ~ Hanewinckel|
Hello Aubrey. Thanks for the opportunity to photograph the Hanewinckel lot at Hollywood Cemetery, that was a great experience. This cemetery is huge, and I usually end up in the back sections, but this lot is on President's Circle, within a stones throw of our 10th President John Tyler, our Revolutionary Soldier 5th President James Monroe, and too many other luminaries to even mention. My point being, this is a grand lot, which also overlooks the James River and Belle Isle. I had to return several times to pull grass, and get the lighting right (I'm a retired photogapher) but it was worth it. Oh and I also contacted the person "Graves" (her name is Bee) about necessary repairs to the name and date, which often takes her a few days. Again, that was a spectacular lot to photograph. Rich.

lol, what you call exciting I call difficult. I can only hope that a dna test will put me in touch with some Patch people. Good luck in your searches.

Knowing you are from Md gives me more hope that there is a connection than most any other state in the country.
The reason I say that is because my 3rd great grandfather made a name change from Patch to Emory. He left the state of Maine in the 1860's and came to Frederick County, Md. to settle. He said he left Maine because he witnessed something that caused him to fear for his life. There is a couple family speculations but none that are founded. We are however sure that he did come from Maine. So I am as far on that line as I can go and I don't think we will ever know for sure who we are unless someone does a DNA test that will give us some answers.
Thank you for your response. I would love to know your Emory lineage if you have time to give me the names from your father back. I do have a Robert Emory that left Franklin County, Pa (boarders Frederick County, Md) and went to Illinois.
Thank you for your time.
Is your last name Emory? Are you searching for Emorys as well as the picture request you submitted to Greenhill Cemetery? Just curious, my maiden name is Emory. Most all of mine live in the Waynesboro Pa area.
