Yes I was there, the stone is semi ledge-able, however the effects of time are taking its toll

|David J. Schryver||John & Harriet Parent|
Dorsey ... I have been at the Dexter Cemetery trying to fill your request for John & Harriet Parent. Town Clerk records show John in Section E5 and Harriet in C5. I have scoured both those sections and can not locate either stone. I will try again at a later date because I find it interesting that records show them both in lot 223, yet in different sections. Could you tell me the relationship of these two to each other? I'm wondering if the records are in error and they could be buried together. David J. Schryver
I am partially wrong, The Ruth Enlow Library does have a partial listing see link below...
If you just type in the last name all of the Drane obits should come up in the list.
There are six Drane obits in their online database that you will want to get, Maria Lamar is not available yet. They have just started putting them on line in the past couple of months.
Hope this helps with your research!

The Republican is published in Oakland, Maryland. To my knowledge old issues are not available online. It is available on microfilm at the Ruth Enlow Library which is where I found it while researching. I remembered making the memorial and just made some notes on it. If you would like, I could get a copy and send to you the next time I am over there. The obituary states her first name as Mariah not Maria and that no immediate relatives survive. I do research there a couple times a week so it would not be a problem.

Sent an edit for date of death for her memorial. While doing some genealogical research today I stumbled across her obituary. For your reference it was published in the Republican newspaper Thursday, March 26, 1942 Volume #66, No.5.

I looked for the cemetery yesterday. I did not find it. Most of that area is pasture land with a barb wire fence. I found a gate I could get in and look around but there was a mean looking bull a hundred yards away looking straight at me so I did not invade his territory. Where did you get the GPS or location directions from?

here is the link to what I have added to my site on the Lee Home.
hope the link works
|Thelma Dickinson Moye||Lee house|
Just wanted to say the house George Lee built in 1834 that you mentioned in your genealogy ,my father owned at one time. He bought it around 1943 & on Jan. 14, 1944 I was born in that house (front bedroom left of the front door). We sold it ( to Doctor Bickley) in 1946 & moved to Alaska for a couple of years. I spent most of my life growing up in Jefferson Co & have always loved that house. My dad put the first in side bathroom in it..My mom kept a diary and tells about it. I remember it well even though I was so young. I have always hoped someone could get it registered as a historical home, it deserves to be..I have added a newspaper article about it on my web site also have the add for the auction we had when we sold all of it...
|Cecil Vaden Jr.||Beulah Drane @ Forest Park|
I see you added a picture request for Beulah Drane @ Forest Park Cemetery in Houston. If you would call the cemetery at 713-928-5141 and get a "SECTION" and "LOT" I will try to get the picture you want. This is a very large (225+) acre cemetery and without a location would be very hard to find.
