Do you wish a transfer of their memorials? Pat M in CT
|Amanda DeLuca Murphy||Transferred memorials|
I transferred the memorial before I was able to add this to her bio. You now maintain her page so you may add it at your convenience. I am glad I was able to help some people connect with info of their families on this website. Please think about passing on the privilege of documenting family histories at local cemeteries in your area. Unfortunately I moved away from New York earlier this year before I was able to complete documenting the whole cemetery. I transferred Rosa's memorial before I was able to add the info to her bio. I looked for the cemetery yesterday. I did not find it. Most of that area is pasture land with a barb wire fence. I found a gate I could get in and look around but there was a mean looking bull a hundred yards away looking straight at me so I did not invade his territory. Where did you get the GPS or location directions from?

here is the link to what I have added to my site on the Lee Home.
hope the link works
|Thelma Dickinson Moye||Lee house|
Just wanted to say the house George Lee built in 1834 that you mentioned in your genealogy ,my father owned at one time. He bought it around 1943 & on Jan. 14, 1944 I was born in that house (front bedroom left of the front door). We sold it ( to Doctor Bickley) in 1946 & moved to Alaska for a couple of years. I spent most of my life growing up in Jefferson Co & have always loved that house. My dad put the first in side bathroom in it..My mom kept a diary and tells about it. I remember it well even though I was so young. I have always hoped someone could get it registered as a historical home, it deserves to be..I have added a newspaper article about it on my web site also have the add for the auction we had when we sold all of it...

I see you added a picture request for Beulah Drane @ Forest Park Cemetery in Houston. If you would call the cemetery at 713-928-5141 and get a "SECTION" and "LOT" I will try to get the picture you want. This is a very large (225+) acre cemetery and without a location would be very hard to find.

Dorsey said "I requested that a photo be added to this memorial page, but people have been unable to locate the grave. Are you sure it's there?
Maybe you could add a note indicating where you think it's located. The plot description didn't help."
Hi, please look at the memorial closely. The note section says "Source: City of Shawnee" This was created from their burial records. That plot location is theirs, not mine.
Also, that cemetery has a lot of sections without headstones as do many other older cemeteries. Lack of a headstone is not an accurate indication of no burial, especially one that died in 1921.
Having "lived in" the city's records for several months, I can tell you it's terrible. Lots of typos and errors when you compare the records to the headstones. This cemetery is one of the worse ones I've seen regarding their records.
That's all I can really tell you. You'll need to contact the city to investigate further.
