Benjamin L Manifold
Memorial 111891781 unknown
Hi Virginia, I hope you can get a photo of 111891781 after watering the stone or in a contrasting light. I have studied your photos of it and my eyes are almost convinced that this is the headstone of Henry (nicknamed "Long") Manifold b. August 26, 1775, d. July 10, 1841. His wife was Elizabeth Turner Manifold (1780 - July 13, 1844).
Henry's father was Joseph, the 3rd child of Benjamin and Annabel Manifold. I do hope the inscription can be verified. This is a very important find for that part of the family. You are very much appreciated indeed. I do wish that I could travel there, but that is not possible. Again, Thank you. BLM

Mildred Hopkins Reese Memorial
Hi Virginia,

You're doing a great job.
If you could amend #99538812 to read "Mildred J. Kay Reese Hopkins", then that would be great.

Her parents were George Kay and Florence J. East, who are also buried in the same cemetery.

Her first husband was Evan W. Reese who is buried in the same cemetery.
Her second husband was Joseph J. Hopkins, Jr. He passed away sometime before Mildred passed away.

Here's a link to her obituary index:

Do you know where Mildred's second is buried?

I hope this helps,

Chris Langdon

RE: More Manifold Memorials
Thank you yet again, Virginia. Indeed, John Joseph would be my second cousin -once removed-and he is mentioned in History of York County, Pennsylvania, Volume 2 By George Reeser Prowell on page 363 , middle of right hand column. My G-grandfather, Dr William Henry Manifold, was the elder brother of John Joseph's father Benedict Meads Manifold(May 3, 1832 to March 17, 1906) and mother Ann B. (Payne) Manifold . I cannot find Benedict Meads Manifold's burial place, however , to make a Findagrave link.Maybe you will also find his, I hope.
There is a Benedict Miles Manifold (Find A Grave Memorial# 127839206) who I suspect is John's younger brother who married Mabel Boggs according to our family book.Thank you for finding John's headstone and if you wish to transfer, I will appreciate it very much. I will research him some more now.Best wishes.

Drums Cemeteries
Hi Virginia... I had been updating some of my memorials in Drums and realized that at some point three cemeteries were added when there should have only been one... you are right that originally the Community Cemetery was St. Pauls... then, at some point they changed the name... I did some checking (and posts on several Yahoo groups) and verified that all three cemeteries were indeed the same one... I also checked with Norm Drasher who has the oldest posts/memorials here on Find A Grave for the area (in most cases)... he also agreed about the correct cemetery currently in Drums.... It was also funny because I was just recently in Drums too... doing some research.

Then, after the Find A Grave merger I realized that there are several duplicates because of the confusion...

Sorry to create so much work for you, after you tried your best not to create duplicates... sometimes they are hard to avoid, especially in cases like this...

Thanks again for all of your work~
