I have been working on my husband's and my family trees for many years. My interest started with a project my mother had to do in school and she had her "family tree" as far back as her parents could remember. Much of it was accurate, some not, but it has been a wonderful adventure to fill it out more.

My husband and I have visited many cemeteries, photographing our families gravestones. Unfortunately I have found some who do not have headstones such as my grandmother, my aunt, and my great grandmother. I hope I can remedy that some day.

RE: Brownfield's
Hello Chris,

Yes you are right that is the same John Brownfield family. His middle name is Ewing as I have the original copy of their daughter Ruth (my grandmother) marriage to my grandfather Francis Gilmore Carson. They had five children Merle, Bertrice, Floyd, Arthur (who died as child) and Ruth.

Thanks for the information about who Henry married after grandmother Lydia. I visited their graves just last summer. As a child we drove over to visit each Memorial Day. They are buried about 5 miles from where I grew up near Newbern, Iowa. Floyd lived on the Brownfield farm near Columbia, Iowa most of his life until retirement he moved to Melcher. I think Merle and Beatrice both lived in Des Moines in their early lives. My grandmother lived and farmed the Carson farm around Belinda on Highway 14 N of Chariton and moved to Melcher and the Ozarks when he retired.

Once again thanks for the information.

Thanks Chris for your message about Henry Brownfield from Newbern, Iowa and Fayette County Pennsylvania. Henry was my 2nd Great Grandfather. His son John B. had a daughter Ruth Brownfield who married Francis Carson they had a daughter Mary Carson who was my mother. We know that Henry married again after his wife Lydia died but we have no further information about who he married or where he went. Do you have any further information? We don't have any of his medical books or any things that were his. Any further information would be helpful.

Sorry, Chris, the only thing that I can imagine is that the creator, Scott, came back since Jan 2012 when I made my request. Apologies.
