|Julie Nelson||2 gravestones|
I am doing some research and I noticed that Levi Stevens 16128607 has two very similar gravestones. Do you have any idea why?
|Laura Webb Thomas||James Madison Webb|
I saw an older thread referencing James Madison Webb. I am trying to locate his burial site and was curious about how he came into this thread? Can anyone help?
|Vsshooter||RE: Elizabeth Luckett & Sultana Peas Luckett Stevens|
I'm glad to know that we are related. I had planned to be in Vicksburg this weekend, but the forecast for rain will dampen my plans for work on the "Old Place". This is the last dab of land that John B. Stevens bought in 1833. It was sold to Samuel Luckett to satisfy the money owed on the place when John died. He had bought sections of land on speculation and died before he could pay the creditors. The other purchaser was Joel Hullum. A portion of the land that Sam bought came back into the Stevens family with the marriage of Sultanna to William B. Stevens. Sultanna had 400 acres to her name after her father died and his estate was divided amongst his widow and 6 children.

These two ladies are my great-great-great grandmother and great great grandmother respectively. I am the person that bought and set the stone for Sultana. I don't think that I should be the one to remove a listing about it since I set said stone. I also set the stone for William Barnabas Stevens and paid to not only have the tin type of him restored, but also have this same photo copied on ceramic and had it installed on his government marker which I ordered from the VA. The only mistake on that marker is his date of death. He actually died on June 27th at Beaver Dam Creek, Virginia about 9:30AM this was part of the Seven Days Battle.
I am the custodian for two family Bibles. One Bible belonged to Charles William Hoxie and his wife Harriet and dates to 1872. They are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in unmarked graves. The other Bible is the oldest and it will be 200 years old next March. This Bible belonged to John Brown Stevens and Mary Cole Roberts Stevens and dates to 1813. If you know Antioch Cemetery you will know that John Brown Stevens and Mary are buried in the west part of the cemetery near his brother Levy Stephens.
I do not know if you are local to Vicksburg or not, but I will be in town this weekend or the next. If you would like to meet at the cemetery I'll show the rest of my family there.

I have made the additions you requested to Curtis' memorial. His wife Vera is my grand aunt.

We are currently in Pennsylvania but hope to be back in Mississippi 3rd week of July. I will get you the photo then. It's in my calander. I won't forget.

Changes made as requested.
|HJS||RE: Ann Webb Howard|
You didn't send me your email address to send the photo of JB Webb's marker to. Send it to my email address to keep it out of Find A Grave. I have the photo ready to send, but since he is still living I didn't want to make it public.

Does JB "Buck" Webb fit in this family? He is buried beside Ann Webb Howard. His marker is engraved " Beloved Brother, Uncle & Father" born in 1920, no death date.
