|My commitment to preserving burial history was seeded by my mother and dad who cared for the family grave sites. Since their passing, I have taken on the mission. Like most volunteers posting here, I wish I had been invested earlier.Haywood County, North Carolina is my primary area of family and friends. Please let me know how I can help.|

memorial 96307890 does not belong to me.
Thank you for the wonderful pictures for the memorial markers. I had posted requests for them but the graves sites could not be located. I appreciate your time and efforts in getting and posting the pictures. I have created sites for Ella G Earley and Jimmey Dockery. Would you please copy and post the pictures for their memorial markers? I have requested pictures for these to give you proper credit for them. Again, thank you.

in the 1979 Cemeteries & Family Graveyards in Haywood County, NC by George Miller sr (my bible for Haywood County burials before 1979).
he lists the Davis Cemetery as being located in Cove Creek Community. He does not list a separate cemetery named Cove Creek. When I visited this cemetery a couple years ago I didn't see much of a 'community' - just an old abandoned gas station and a chapel.
So I believe the 2 are one in the same.
hope this helps.

I am not sure where Cove Creek Cemetery is except it is listed as burial location on several death certificates that I have seen. I am beginning to believe it may be another name for the Davis Cemetery. I have seen several death certificates where one spouse is listed as buried in Cove Creek Cemetery and the other in Davis Cemetery.
Another instance to possibly document this idea is that William Henry Putnam's death certificate lists him as being buried in Cove Creek Cemetery but there is a tombstone for him in Davis Cemetery with the same dob and dod as listed on the death certificate.
I hope this helps you in your endeavor, maybe the name was changed at some point. As for now I am listing the ones I find via death certificate in the cemetery that the DC states, until this is sorted out by somebody.
