|David Haspert||RE: Degenhardt|
I have your great-grandmother, Margaret Degenhardt Drebing no. 130871356, as born in Kansas.
According to my records she was the third child of John and Katherine Schell Degenhardt who immigrated in 1876.
I would like to hear from you to update and correct my records and those on find-a-grave if necessary.

Ahoy Jeanette and nephew-in-law Mr. Melvin! I am so happy to have added joy to your holidays -- getting messages like yours are what keep me going! I do believe the Melvin family had quite a history in Klamath and on the tiny Native American reservation there. Klamath is still a tribal area, and the Klamath River salmon are 35 - 50 pounds, with sustenance fishing being key for the tribe. Tribal ceremonies are held and members smoke their fresh salmon in traditional ways over fires on the river bank and have festivities -- so many wonderful traditions have they! Tourism during fishing season is a real bottleneck in tiny Klamath and the little boat launcher is choked with sport boats ready to splash down into the river. The river mouth moves seasonally along the sandy spit where the river meets the Pacific Ocean. I used to drive to Klamath and up onto an overlook to take photos periodically to document the movement of the Klamath River's mouth. Talk about a frequently moving mouth! Ha Ha!

|BrideyLight||Melvin memorials at Greenwood Cemetery, Arcata, CA|
Dear Jeanette: You are so very welcome for the family grave marker photographs. I am in the process of knitting together family members via links (once I confirm who is who, and it is possible there were three Mary Melvin individuals!), and sending SACs to Karen Hendricks (another creator of Melvin memorials). After this is completed, would you like me to transfer the Melvin memorials I have created over to you? RSVP please on both emailing you the photos and transferring the memorials I have created to you. Jingle bells! Bridey Light
|BrideyLight||Charles G. Melvin at Greenwood Cemetery, Arcata, CA|
Dear Jeanette: I found your Charles today, along with many other Melvin family members. Am editing and will upload photographs, etc. within the next few days. Would you like me to email you copies of all of the Melvin individual photographs? RSVP on that please. Kind regards, Bridey Light
