I was born near the Perry Store community in Coffee Co, AL and grew up in Opp, AL. I retired from the US Army and now live in Millbrook, AL and work part-time with a local pest control company. I graduated from Opp High School, Enterprise State Junior College and the University of Alabama with a degree in U.S. history. Family genealogy and cemeteries intrigue me, and I have researched these families for the last 15 years: Hattaway, Carter, Harrison, Preachers, Donaldson, Wise, Davis, Weatherford, Farris, Martin and Creech. I have many 35mm photos of cemeteries in Coffee, Covington and Geneva co's. I just recently discovered Findagrave and hope to be a helpful contributor. Please contact me if I can be of assistance.

In case you were interested the Preachers reunion will be this month.I believe it will be on 9/14. I will verify that date and get back with you in case you are interested in attending. I will not be able to make it this year. Hope all is well.
George Carter Hi, I found a link here with your info http://boards.ancestry.com/thread.aspx?mv=flat&m=1164&p=surnames.carter this led me to the find this grave site for George Carter. I think George was the (step)son I am looking for of William Silas and Martha Lou Vina Carter. It was told to me by my Mother that Martha Lou Vina had married William Silas Carter who had been previously married and his wife died. Some of the other family members fit as well. Look up my links on here and you will find them. Thank you Joan
RE: William S. Carter family headstones in Fairview cemetery, Coffee Co, AL So glad to hear from you. I sent an email a few months back & since i had not heard from you was wondering if everything was alright. Thank you for letting me know. I figured you were probably busy with work or something. Congratulations on your daughters wedding an taking care of a big garden you have been busy. My cousin asked for your address so they could mail you an invitation for next year. There are a few who are going to be able to attend this year. My cousin Ruben went to the cemetery to see the headstones. They did not realize that Elizabeth was buried there.
