Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing our family genealogy on Ancestry for many, many years now, and really enjoy the history learned from those who came before us.

I am so very thankful to all the wonderful volunteers who have provided so many photos of final resting places of lost loved ones on find-a-grave. They have helped me tremendously. It has encouraged and inspired me to share and add my own photos.

Anyone may use any of my photos from
Find-a-Grave for their own historical research.

Henry Death
Hi Jane. I was looking at my family history and realized we share ancestors. James Deeth and Laura nettleton are my great grandparents. I am confused about Henry Death however. On the 1851 census it says he is age 29 at next birth day (age 28). This would put his birth year at 1823, not 1805. This would put him much closer to Emily's age as well. There are records of Henry Death being born in Alford, England in 1823 to parents John and Ann. Ann is also on the census of 1851 (age 59). If you have any information to share I would appreciate it.

RE: Polly Shults

Hi Jane,

Our line is through their daughter Malinda Jane Shults Carney-Shumate. I'm thinking we are somewhere around 5th cousins.

I'm a history teacher in Dallas and am really getting into this. If you have any old family info feel free to email me at I will definately make sure it is preserved and passed down.

Thank you for all you do.

McKay family memorials
Hi Jane,
We have just noticed all of the wonderful gravestone photos that you have entered on our memorials for the McKay family in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Rains County. We thank you very much.
We were going to do the photos last year but due to illness in the family, we never did get them done.
We were wondering if you were related to the Mckay's. Jerry's Great Grandmother was a McKay.
We thank you again for the photos, we really appreciate it.
Best wishes,
Carleen and Jerry Ferguson

Dear Jane,
Before she passed away in 2006, my Aunt Norma told me that her Grandma Sally Simmons Shults was from the tiny community of Simmons in Texas County MO. Simmons is little more than a crossroads on Hwy. 63 and we have been through there many times on our way back and forth to St Louis. There is also a bridge near there on Hwy 63 over the Big Piney river where there is a river access called Simmons Ford access.
Also, recently I googled my Grandmother Gertie Sutterfield's name and came across a photo of her I hadn't seen before on It was on pg. 88 of Peter Moore Sutterfield tree. The caption was "niece of W.B.Simmons age 32, under the heading of Charles W. Simmons 1894-1978. I am no longer a member of but if you are a member maybe you can backtrack and find something. I googled W.B. Simmons Missouri and a W.B. Simmons and Son was once a merchant in Summersville MO.
I will ask the treasurer, who keeps the West Fork Sutterfield cemetery records whether Charles and Mary Simmons are buried there when we have our meeting there in April. If so, will take a photo for you.
By the way, I think we have met when we were youngsters and I have a photo or two of our families together at Big Basin redwood forest!
