RE: Ila Peifer Photo
Thanks very much. Same type of stone so I thought might be a relative.

Thanks very much for the photo. This is my first cousin thru my father's brother Walter. I noticed a marker next to Ila's that was the same type of stone. I was wondering if these stones were related. If you are in the area again, could you photograph the other stones or just give me the names on them??
Thanks again

RE: Baby Shallenberger-Brewster KS., cemetery
Please send me your mailing address and I will get the information my mom did find months ago. Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you with this. Mom found the marriage license of Lester Shallenberger and Emma Carrie Zentz and obituaries, I can send you.

Baby Shallenberger-Brewster KS., cemetery
I am sorry to say there is no marker for this baby in the Brewster cemetery.

I have good news though. My mother, the Librarian/Historian of Brewster has done extensive research, looking in "old" newspapers from Brewster, KS and last night she called me with good news. She has found where a 3 month old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shellenberger died last Friday. Since the paper only came out on Fridays and the date of the paper was April 2, 1909, we figured that this baby died March 27, 1909. Down further in the paper there is a condolence article, which is lengthy, but it says, condolences go out to Lester and Emma Shellenberger, for the loss of their infant daughter, after a lengthy illness. It goes on and states she was buried in the Brewster cemetery. Once I get a copy of these articles I can send them to you.

Please contact me at I would like to get what information you might have for this little girl. We would like to put the history of this family and little one in the Brewster History/Museum, since they were part of the Brewster, Hale township, Thomas county, Kansas, history.
