Came for the genealogy, stayed for the cemeteries. Family lines: Hammel, Smith, Martell and Jones, mostly of Pickaway, Fairfield and Columbiana Counties in Ohio. Kroner, Greiner, Holzberger and Gettle, mostly of southeast Indiana. I also have photos and documents through family connections to the Murray, Heffner, Kiger and Riegel families of Pickaway and Fairfield Counties in Ohio. |
I operate two Facebook pages for the local history of Shanesville (now part of Sugarcreek) and Baltic, Ohio. I also handled most of the editing and writing of "Shanesville: 200 Years On The Hill", which was published in August 2014. If you need any help with ancestors in either of these two towns, I'd be happy to try to help. The Facebook pages can be found at:
I will consider sharing my photos with those who have the decency to ask. I may also have further information on the family names listed above, and am always happy to hear from distant relatives.
I've chosen not to display my email address for reasons of privacy and security. Please contact me via "suggest a correction" through the appropriate memorial or leave a message on my profile page. Thanks!

You have taken a picture of Edwin and Emma Stout in Forest Cemetery, Circleville, Pickaway Co, Ohio. It is posted with Golda's memorial #84831184. May I have a copy of this picture?
Whenever I have copied photographs of headstones on Find a Grave I place the name of the photographer and his contributor # on the picture before placing on Ancestry, or other genie programs. This picture would be no different. I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and to this end I place the names in a visible yet not totally obvious place on the pictures I have copied. So that if others take the picture, at least the name of the photographer is on it.
The Stouts are distant cousins. Christina Weidenhammer married a Stout in Berks Co, PA, and she was a sister of my great great great grandpa.

A 2nd message. I note the interest in Baltic, OH. It was founded by my ggg grandfather, Lewis Row, so I have an interest here also.
|Margaret Adams||Magdana Long Infield|
Glen, Thanks for the FindaGrave info for Magdalena Long Infield #95372232 in New Bedford Lutheran Cemetery. According to my research, Magdalena is the daughter of Samuel Long and Mary Keplinger (may have various spellings). Samuel died 1855 and is buried in Berger Shutt Cemetery, Holmes Co. OH next to his parents George and Margaret Long, my ggg grandparents. If you have documentation to the contrary, on her parents, please let me know. Thanks. Peg Adams

Than you Glen for all your do to help preserve the history and memory of the the Ancestors.

Hi Mr Hammel,
I think Charles C Fair and Mary Pauline Infield had a son out-of-wedlock. My g-grandfather, Charles F Fair, had me stumped until "retta1" contacted me through ancestry.com. He/she told me where C F Fair's death cert was located and there I saw CFF's parents listed as Chas. Fair and Pauline Infield.
Charles Fair is with M P Infield's parents, Frederick and Rebecca Infield, on the 1870 census and also the 1880, where he's listed as "grandson".
In M P Infield's(Snyder)obit, "Charles Fair of Baltic, by former marriage." is named. I haven't found a record of another marriage for her.
Can CCF's Find-a-Grave page be edited to reflect this info? I don't know the etiquette. If you can help, I'd appreciate it.
Charles K Fair
