RE: Concerning Moser Cemetery, Hamblen County
No, there were no other BETTIS tombstones that we found. Three of us did a complete inventory of everything that was readable. There were a number of field stones there and also a footstone with the initials "J.B." and another one with "T.B."(possible BETTIS?) The inventory that was done in the mid-1980s and placed on tngenweb.org does not list any other BETTIS graves.

Lenord Bettis Mahan Cemetery
Chandler, I searched the Mahan Cemetery in Hamilton County, TN. I have a photo of a recently replaced headstone that reads "Vennie Green Bettis" dob 1 Oct 1873 and dod 27 Mar 1930. Could this be the same person? Velma

I don't appreciate the message you have on my 4th great grandfather Memorial Grave. Just because you can't find your Bettis line is no reason to post a false message on my Bettis Ancestor.

Wyatt Bettis has proven records and documentation
of his family in Franklin NC, Washington Co Ga
and Wilson Co Tennessee.

Bettis Cemetery - Georgetown, TN
Hi,

I contacted the owner to request access to the cemetery and was rudely refused.

You can look up the owner on the Hamilton County TN GIS database at http://maps.hamiltontn.gov/hcflex/

They have a landline listed on whitepages.com

If you can legally prove that you're a descendent, you can demand access under the Cemetery Easement portion of Tennessee state law.

RE: Frank Jr or Sr
You are welcome!
Just in case we have future correspondence, thought you would want to know I am a Ms :)
My parents wanted a boy when I turned out to be the fourth in a long line of girls so they named me in accordance but at least put the "ie" at the end instead of the "y", which still didn't help to identify me as a girl when I was growing up and many teachers accused me of shortening "Martha" to "Martie".
Now you know part of my life story :)
Blessings to you,
Martie

Charles H. Bettis
Chandler: I looked for Charles' grave site in Lakeview Cemetery, Loudoun County, VA. I found the site(using a map of the cemetery), but unfortunately, there is no grave marker. Sorry.
