TOM WOODWARD
RUTH WOODWARD OWENS
Elaine, Thanks for your return input.I really need some y-dna from any of Thomas Joshua,W.E.or H.A.Woodwards ancestors. We may be very closely related and I turned out not to have Woodward dna until about 1810-20.Right now I do not match closely with any Woodwards at Familytreedna and there are none of Joshs'folks dna at FTDNA.Would you have any interest in helping locate someone to fill that bill? Or you may know someone that has already tested at another facility.Sincerely, Tom Woodward

RE: James Madison Proffitt, Jr., Obit
Newspapers don't always get the names or initials quite right. I sent it as it appears in the paper.

Your welcome, while I was there I photographed all the headstones in the Mundy family plot. I've added a photo of Helen Peyton Owens and Lawton C. Owens. I hope you don't mind. Also buried in the Mundy plot was Ellen Mundy Shaner Thomas, Mary Peyton Mundy, Burruss Wiley Mundy, and Richard Worthington Hills. Let me know if these are any that you are interested in. Aimee

Paul Peyton
Hi, I was at the Amherst Cemetery in Amherst Va over the weekend to photograph Onie Ingram Jefferson Peytons headstone. I photographed everyone that was buried in the plot. One was for Paul Peyton, I've added a photo of his grave but his dates on the grave differ from what you have on his memorial page. I just thought I would let you know. Born Aug. 18, 1892 Died July 2, 1925

Robert Gordon Owens
Hi Elaine,

I am assuming we're family, though I am not yet sure how!

With that said, I think you have the wrong Robert Gordon Owens listed as Clinton Brown Owens' son. My grandfather, Robert Gordon Owens, Jr., was born in 1917. He served in the Marines in WWII. He was also highly decorated, but as a flying ace, and later, Major General. His father was Robert Gordon Owens, Sr., son of Clinton Brown Owens.

I have traced my lineage, through the Wellborn line, to the early 1600's, and through the Owens line, to William (Aiken) Owens. I would like to further my knowledge of the Owens line, but have hit a roadblock with William.

RE: Robert G. Owens Jr.
Thank you very much. My quest is to try to find information on the family of a Robert G. Owens from South Carolina. His middle name is written as Gurdin(e) and I thought that maybe that was a misspelling and it might be Robert Gordon Owens, Sr.

It looks like they are two distinct individuals (the Robert G. Owens you have and the one I'm looking for) who are not related. The Robert G. Owens I am trying to find had a daughter Lois Owens who married Herman Mulligan, Sr. I have her death certificate which is where I found the middle name Gurdin which I thought might be a misspelling of Gordon.

As a side note, it appears that Lois may have carried the mutated gene for hemophilia which is usually passed from mother to son. Her sister Ruth Owens Patterson apparently passed it on to her son who died in 1914 at a young age. Lois may have passed it on to her only child.

This is one of those times I wish that I was looking for someone named Hezekaiah Owens for fewer name results!

Hello,

Do you happen to know if Robert had any brothers or sisters? Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.
