I have been researching my own, my husband's, and several friend's family history for over 20 years. It has been one of my most enjoyable and rewarding leisure time pursuits. Now that I'm retired I can devote even more time. |
Find A Grave has been extremely helpful in many cases where I have literally been met with "dead ends" in search of ancestors who left few breadcrumb trails to find them, and I'm extremely thankful for all the kind assistance I've been given by its devoted participants!
Genealogy is always engaging, sometimes tedious and definitely time-consuming, but I can think of no better way to spend my free time than paying tribute to all the lives who made ours possible. It's a real joy! Thanks to all who make our research so much easier!

The stone for Eli J and Sabia B Jones is found in Concord Cemetery in Washington County, IL
|Donna Fontana Watson||Abner Rice|
Abner Stires Rice is interred in Old Concord Cemetery in Washington County, Illinois. He is not in the Chapman Cemetery in Perry County. Chapman is a small family cemetery, has only about a dozen graves, several of which are my Dempsey ancestors. Old Concord has many more, with many families represented. There are many Hutchings, also Dempsey/Dempsay, Rice, etc. There are many graves listed as Chapman, in error.

You're welcome. He's my 2nd GG Uncle, brother to my Sabra G. Rice who married Eli J. Hutchings. I have Lucinda R. Hull as Abner's wife, do you know where she's interred? If she's at Old Concord, I missed her. I only photo'd the folks who are related to me.

Deborra, you are very welcome! The cemetery your relatives are in rather small, quaint and easy to navigate. I found them easily, not something I can say for a lot of request trips. It seems that this cemetery is overlooked by other contributors, for when I first checked out requests, I saw 7 unclaimed ones going back to March. So, I took it on. Glad to help complete your memorial pages. = ]

I've never seen so many dates. I think we should use the draft registration date since he is the one that gave the info. I will adjust the note I left regarding his birth date.

Sadly yes. I take photos next to the area to be sure as well. They have really good maps.

I hope you don't mind I E-Mailed you 3 photos for your archives.

I noticed that buried next to Charles Pitsch is the grave of Hazel R. Pitsch. The tombstone inscription reads HAZEL R. PITSCH BELOVED WIFE AND MOTHER 1892-1889. There is no memorial for her. I think you should have the honor of adding her name to Find A Grave. She is buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hill Calif. Section Eternal Love, Map# E22 Lot# 4787, Space#4. I took a photo of the marker just in case you might want it. I also took a photo of the 2 markers together.
Glad to be of help

You are very welcome. Sorry there was no headstone to photograph.
