The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God
Was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone;
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide;
And though we can not see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Gale Stopher.
Susanna, I'm not related to Gale but we're working on trying to honor all NC based,born & buried soldiers who lost their lives in the Vietnam War(check my bio). Would you consider transferring him to me or trading ?

Thanks,
Tom(#46857744)

Suzanna - I have been in the Evergreen Cemetery numerous times and could never locate this stone. No wonder, it was cover with shrubs and pine needles and on the side of a hill, flat on the ground. I hope that this adds to your search for family If there is anything else that you would like me to help you with let me know. Betty Jane

I have taken a photo of the area where Charity is most likely buried. The flower represents the spot next to her husband, Henry.

There's a chance I have gravestone pictures that you're looking for. Do you want large pictures with more detail e-mailed to you, or smaller versions for Findagrave?

Hi! I found Susan his wife and I'm thinking that they shared a stone. The stone has fallen over and it's impossible to lift up. If he's on the other side of the stone, I couldn't get the stone to move. Thanks!
