Bio Photo It is an absolute delight to see the marker of my deceased ancestor after researching and discovering their final resting place. Oh how I wish I could speak with to them again. But knowing I have discovered where they lay makes my heart smile.

And, I have to thank all the countless volunteer photographers who have so gratefully given of their time to take pictures of my ancestors markers. You are all Angels!

RE: John Elmer Patterson Tombstone Photo
I just wanted you to know, personally, how happy we were to take the photo for you. The rose was a last minute thought, but something I thought appropriate when visiting a cemetery. I wanted you to know that, although small, the cemetery is located in the country, surrounded by grapevines. It is very peaceful.

Just an FYI, in case someone might upload a photo to Aaron's or anyone else's site that you are managing, you can simply "click" on Photo at the top of the memorial page. It will then show you all the pics listed for that person. Just highlight the one you want gone and click on delete. It will ask if you are sure, then click yes. I already took the old one off of Aaron's, but thought you might want to know how to delete a photo that appears on any memorial that you do not want. you are right. The stone looks great!

I'm so happy that the stone was in good condition. I wish they were more proactive there--Like, maybe notifying family if they have any listed. They will not even contact when I tell them that a stone is broken or covered by mud 1-2 inches deep, etc. They just say that the family is responsible. How can they be when they are not aware? The people, themselves, are nice enough, but they do not go one step beyond their job description! I will be eager to see and post the pic as soon as it is done! Cheryl

RE: Aaron Moore
If they "can't" take a pic while raising it, ask them when they will do it and I can take the pic.
Cheryl--They seem to leave somewhere between 4-5pm most days--seems earlier on Fridays. They are not there on weekends. Cheryl

Sorry for so many emails. Tried to use hotmail, said it would not go. Don't understand why, but here is info from that email:

Brenda, Maplewood
2000 Prairie St.
Emporia, KS 66801

Brenda wanted you to call her when I was asking about lifting the stone, etc. She wants to talk with you. I told her I would give you the info and to allow you to reach her. Just send me info from here or my email is

Will hopefully upload pics tomorrow afternoon.

All Moores

I am going out tomorrow am so will try to get John V Moore and Sabrina (prob. 2nd wife)Moore. Those two fist names are the ones I saw. As soon as I looked at the names, they were familiar.

If you need any others, let me know.

I have the pic uploaded now. This is the back of the stone. The "face" is facedown, but it has a stone upon which it sets. If you want a pic of it, I can get it when I take pics tomorrow am (before it goes over 100 degrees!!

I got an email from Cheryl Henry, and noticed your email to her on her page, so checked yours, too! I have some documentation about the cemetery and found several Moores in Section 14, with section/lot/space:

Aaron Moore, d. Aug 18, 1900 14-29-4
Avis M. Moore, d. Mar 1805, 14-29-5
Mrs. J.V. Moore, d. Apr 3, 1904, 14-29-3
John V. Moore, d. Dec 5, 1917, 14-62-4
Mrs. Sabrina Moore, c. Feb 21, 1963, 14-62-3

My last thought is that you might ask them to lift it so you can decide whether to just reset or get a new stone.

I did not write down the names of the people, but I will get them on Monday as I have some more requests for pics from Maplewood.

I hope this helps. Cheryl
